In the past couple of years, I have really started to notice changes in my face. As I get closer to the big 3-0, I find that my skin just isn't what it was ten years go. I don't drink enough water, so my skin often looks washed out and I still battle problems with my skin that I thought would be long gone when I entered my twenties. The elements and free radicals are really unavoidable, even though I go to measures to protect my skin from the sun, etc. And I know I can't be wrinkle-free for life... I just didn't expect to start seeing them appear this soon!
I feel like the best my skin has ever looked (that I can remember) was when I was pregnant. You hear people tell pregnant women that they have that 'glow,' and it's true... they do. My skin was radiant, dewy and problem-free while I was carrying Balian, and I absolutely loved that! I never wanted that beautiful glow to disappear, but it did... as soon as Balian was born, it was good-bye loveliness and hello horrendousness! If only there were a way to get that pretty feeling back! Well, what if I told you that there was a product out there that'll give you tighter, firmer skin and will give you that special glow even when you're not pregnant?
I have been seeing a lot of people trying products from a company called It Works. This is a Direct Sales company that offers lots of different toning, tightening and firming body products that actually do work! The name says it all here, folks! I have been so intrigued by these products and have been wanting to try something (anything!) from It Works for a long, long time! Well, I finally got my wish! I couldn't wait for my Facial Applicator to arrive. I have what my sister and I call the dreaded 'collapse face,' which means that my face literally looks like it collapses into my neck, chin and jaw line completely vanishing. We sort of joke about it all in good fun... and I get this from both sides of my family (lucky me), but I am really self conscious about this. Anything that would help to tighten and firm up the skin on my face and neck would be well worth trying!
Facial Applicator by It Works!
My Facial Applicator came all sealed up in an individual package, and with a nice and informative note from Missy M. on how to use the applicator. She forewarned me that I may look and/or feel silly while wearing the applicator on my face. Hey, if pain is beauty, silliness can't hurt, right? So, I waited for an evening I knew my husband would be home (because I couldn't have Balian grabbing at my face while trying to use my applicator), and excitedly prepped for my experiment.
I started with a clean, make-up free face, which I will gladly show you here...
No make up... about 9 PM Monday night...
I peeled the applicator from the packaging, opened it up and put it (lotion side down) on top of my face. I smoothed it out as best I could. There were openings for the eyes and the mouth, so I tried to get those near-ish to where they were supposed to be. I wore the applicator for 45-50 minutes, as instructed by Missy. Balian wasn't scared of me while I had the applicator on, but I think my hubby and mother-in-law were! As soon as the lotion from the Facial Applicator touched my skin, I could feel it working. My skin was tingling (in a good way), and I knew that I would be in for a treat after taking the applicator off.
I sat down to work on some reviews to pass the time while the applicator did its thing. I know you're all dying to see a picture of me wearing the It Works Facial Applicator, so here it is...

The applicator was way bigger than my face, which is a good thing... that means that it'll fit any shape/size! I did get it smoothed out a little better after my husband snapped the photo above... just FYI. I couldn't wait to see what my skin would look like after wearing the applicator for about 50 minutes. When the timer went off, I hurried into my bedroom and made Sacha (my hubs) get out of bed and take a picture! I followed Missy's directions and peeled back the Facial Applicator and then massaged any of the remaining lotion into my skin.
After taking the Facial Applicator off- around 10 PM, Monday night...
My skin looked 100% different after removing the applicator. It felt firmer, tighter, and looked absolutely beautiful! Put aside the fact that it was 10 PM when I took these pictures (because I was dead-tired!). My skin appeared brighter, and I felt like I looked a few years younger... I'd take being able to pass for twenty-five! Take a look at the before and after photos side by side...

Seriously... look at the difference here! My skin is obviously tighter and more defined in the after photo! Not only that, it's glowy! I was worried that the lotion might leave a residue on my pillow if I didn't wash it off before bedtime, but it didn't. I had the lotion on all night, and just look at my skin/face the following day...

Oh My Goodness!!! I am so glad I found this post. I have been considering trying the facial applicator. I do have sensitive skin so I have not taken the leap yet but I am seriously considering it....
ReplyDeleteI also have sensitive skin. Very sensitive. The facial applicators does wonders for me . I have pale dry skin with redness. It is uneven and full of problems. Including acne.
