You might not know this about me, but I just so happen to be French! Well, my grandfather's family is French, which makes my dad French, and that makes me French, too! With a maiden name like Durocher, it's pretty obvious. There are many things that the French make and do very well... breads, cheeses, pastries and art come to mind, just to name a few. Paris is a major fashion capital, too, so it's only fitting that one of the newest and hottest skin care companies comes out of Paris, France.
I only just recently learned about a company called Votre Vu, which loosely translates to 'Your you' in English. Votre Vu has sort of been in the making for eighty years! Visionaries and artisans made it possible to bring excellent French skin care to the United States in 2007, when Votre Vu was born. Votre Vu offers an exclusive line of French formulated products for your face, body and hair. I was pleased as punch when Amy Martin, Votre Vu Ambassador contacted me about reviewing an item for our Holiday Gift Guide. Votre Vu has so many eye catching products, that I knew whatever Amy chose to send to me would be tres magnifique!
BeBe Duette from Votre Vu
I received Votre Vu's BeBe Duette. It arrived beautifully packaged... enveloped in its own cloth bag... impressed much? This set contains Votre Vu's Luxe Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm and their Tarte D'Amande Luxe Hand Creme. I know that this may be confusing, so let me explain. This is a gorgeous two in one lip balm and hand cream set. It's in a petite size, which is wonderful for moms on the go, like me!
The top of this lotion contains Votre Vu's Luxurious Lips Moisturizing Lip Balm. I love, love, love lip balm and until recently had a serious lip balm addiction. Really- not in a good way. I would apply lip balm at least every fifteen minutes because my lips became to used to needing it! Nothing seemed to moisturize them enough! Thankfully, Votre Vu's lip balm is creamy and smooth and is an excellent moisturizer! I put a tiny little dab on my lips early this morning and haven't had to put on a drop more since then (it's now nearing the end of the day). It's a clear balm, which I just so happen to prefer over tinted balm. The lid of the Duette set contains a tiny little mirror on the inside. Talk about convenience!
Underneath the lip balm is the yummy scented Hand Creme in Almond Pie. This is no ordinary hand cream, either! This specially formulated hand cream contains nutrients for your skin! Directions advise you to massage the hand cream into your hands after every wash, until completely absorbed, and then to apply another thin layer on top of that. I do wash my hands often throughout the day, because we cloth diaper Balian, and that can get kind of messy. I also wash a lot of dishes and bottles during the day, so my hands definitely quench moisture! I didn't apply extra layers of the hand cream, though. I felt that one layer was enough, even after washing my hands. It's a really nice hand cream. It's thin, but not too thin and brings just the right amount of moisture to my delicate skin. It's not at all greasy, and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. The Almond Pie scent is so delicious-smelling, I almost want to eat it, but since it's a hand cream, I won't do that! My husband said that the hand cream remind him of his very favorite body butter, which he loves to have massaged over his feet.

I am so glad that I had the opportunity to experience Votre Vu first hand! Now I know what everyone's been talking about on Facebook on some of the WAHM pages! Votre Vu is amazing, and so is Amy! I'd love to buy some Votre Vu products for the women in my family this Christmas, because they would make wonderful gifts for my mom, sister, and even my grandmother! The BeBe Duette is an excellent item to stock up on for stocking stuffers! It's easy to toss right into your purse and you'll always know that your lip balm is with your lotion! Trust me, it's much easier to find this way... no digging in bottomless pits and deep pockets for something tiny that'll take ten minutes or more to find. Delight all of the gals on your holiday shopping list with this fantastic two in one set!
