Love is in the air, and with Valentine's Day just around the corner, love is also in our faces everywhere we turn! You've surely seen the candy and hearts galore while you've been grocery shopping or making a run to the local Wal-Mart. I have tried to stay far away from Valentine's Day in years past, but now that I have a new love in my life, it's hard not to get all mushy on February 14th!



One of my favorite things I get to do with and for my little love is to dress him in adorable clothes. At fifteen months, I know that my days of being able to do this are numbered, so I have to take in as many chances as I can get! I often turn to Etsy when I want to find one of a kind seasonal apparel or accessories. I like knowing that the clothing that Balian is wearing was handmade by someone who truly cares about their handiwork. I stumbled upon Stitch This Custom Embroidery & More while browsing for Valentine apparel. Stitch This is owned by Amy Mauldin, proud momma of four. Stitch This came about after Amy made a cute jersey for her son to wear for his little league games. Amy made a 'mommy' shirt for herself to wear to games, and a 'sissy' shirt, too- and as soon as other people saw their shirts, they wanted them, too!

As I browsed the Stitch This shop on Etsy, it wasn't hard to see why others wanted Amy's designs! All of her custom embroidered designs are top notch, of the very best quality and are absolutely adorable. You can only imagine my excitement when Amy offered to let me choose a design from her shop for Balian! Stitch This has over 100 items available for purchase, so it took me a while to decide which design to choose. I finally decided to go with a cute alligator with a little heart in its mouth, and the saying 'Love Bites.' Amy actually already had one of these in the size I needed for Balian. She wasn't going to sell it, because the shirt that she used had a small flaw (just a barely noticeable marking) on the back in a couple of spots. It was unnoticed when she purchased the shirt, so it was by no fault of Amy's. Boys are messy- so I didn't mind at all that there was a tiny mark on the back of the shirt. Amy got the shirt all packaged and ready to go, and it was in my mailbox within just a few days!

I couldn't wait to see Balian's new shirt! I carefully opened the clear plastic packaging that the shirt was in, and unfolded it to get a good look. I was immediately in love with the t-shirt! Amy uses 100% cotton shirts for her designs, which every momma will love! The t-shirt itself is a nice thickness, which means it'll hold up for a while! The embroidery is just beautiful. I love the bold colors of the threads, and I really, really love that there is a protective layer between the embroidered design and the skin of my child. This way, there won't be any rubbing or irritating from the shirt. What I love most of all, though, is how absolutely adorable Balian looks in his 'Love Bites' t-shirt from Stitch This Custom Embroidery & More!

Balian's lovin' his new t-shirt!

Since it's a little too chilly in NC for short sleeves right now (ya never know- it could be 75 degrees in the middle of January down here!), I paired the tee with a red long sleeved shirt, to compliment the red in the embroidery. I can't wait for everyone to see Balian wearing this shirt, because I know they're going to go crazy over how cute the shirt is, and how cute Balian looks wearing it. My husband particularly likes the shirt, because it's Valentine-y, but not girly, not mushy, etc... perfect for a little boy who likes to make mischief on a sometimes hourly basis.

Amy M. really prides herself on the quality of her work, and she truly deserves to! The embroidery and applique are probably the best materials Balian has had on a shirt thus far. I've washed the t-shirt, and not one thread has moved from its place after being washed and dried. I know that B won't be able to wear this shirt forever, but I know that it'll hold up well enough to be passed on to a sibling or to a few cousins. This design isn't too boyish that a girl couldn't wear it, too! If you like the Love Bites design, a little bow can be added to dress the gator up, if you're buying it for a girl! How adorable would that be!?
