Part of our Easter Parade Feature
As a Christian mom, I am always thinking about how to handle situations that children are faced with today. Though Balian is just reaching the toddler stage of his life, he'll soon be interacting with lots of other kids, going to school, and before I know it, he'll be coming home with lots of questions, and his own little hurts. No parent wants to see their child hurting, for any reason, and sometimes, it's hard even for us adults to know the right thing to say or do. Thanks be to God that we can arm ourselves with the Word of God, present our children with truth, hope, and love them like Jesus does.

Big Idea Entertainment has also provided adults with a great way to help their kids understand and deal with the hurts in life. Big Idea Entertainment brings us the beloved Veggie Tales movies- each containing lessons for children, presented in a safe, loving way. We were blessed with a copy of the latest Veggie Tales installment: Robin Good and His Not so Merry Men, on DVD.
Though Balian is still a little too young to understand movies intended for children a little older than he is now, he was excited to see the new DVD and to watch it. The Robin Good DVD features two stories: The first, Lenny & the Lost Birthday. Balian loved watching Lenny, his family and friends. The colors, animation and music kept him entertained. I loved the message of the story, and that Larry's mom encouraged him to talk to others, and to pray when he is hurting, as well as learning how to forgive others. The best message of all is that God never forgets us. He has written our names on the palm of His hand, and we are His forever.
Robin Good Trailer...
The second story features familiar characters in a new light. Based on Robin Hood, Robin Good and his merry men live in Bethlingham, where they fundraise from the rich in order to give to the poor. The greedy Prince, however, begins stealing the town's hams, and the donations go down- and Robin's friends dessert him, for a life of stealing. Poor Robin feels so rejected and hurt, that he just isn't sure if he can continue his merry deeds on his own. God steps in, though, and Robin's hope is restored. This is a wonderful example of the message that 'there's no hurt too big for God.'

I have been a Veggie Tales fan for a long time, and for good reason! Now that I'm a mom, I am so glad that I can easily find movies and activity sets for Balian as he grows into a little boy, that will aid me in teaching him about God at home- and even outside of the home! Big Idea Entertainment has partnered with select Chuck E. Cheese's and FATZ Cafe locations to offer Veggie Tales kids cups and menus, among other things! I remember watching my favorite Christian kids series on video when I was a little girl- and I really believe that because my parents and grandmother flooded my life with scripture, and examples of how to deal with every day situations, it has shaped the person I am today, and fills me with the passion to serve God with all that I am. I want that for my son- but I also know that there will come a day where he'll be faced with less than desirable situations, and mommy won't be around- but God will be. All I can do is bring him up as someone who loves Jesus, knows God cares, and believes in a hope beyond reason.
While they're still little, though, thanks to Big Idea Entertainment, parents everywhere have Veggie Tales to help them teach their children about God. The Robin Good DVD comes to us just in time for Easter! Instead of filling baskets with toys, why not give your child this special DVD, with an incredible message that all children need to hear? Robin Good is available in most Christian and many general market stores.
