Now that B wears a uniform to school, his closet has gotten a little less crowded and I definitely have done way less shopping for him. In shopping less, I am being more particular about what I do buy him or let him wear as well. I try to find him more unique items so that when he does have a casual day at school or we are out an about, he doesn't look like everyone else.
I recently contacted a company that specializes in unique and funny apparel for men, women, and kids. I was so excited to hear back from them and that they had agreed to work with MBP. This company, founded in 2005, is based in San Fransisco and claim to be obsessed with making intelligently funny tees and apparel.
Headline Shirts are hand sewn in San Fransisco using their own vintage blend tee. They use only Eco friendly inks and materials, even the bags they use for shipping. Most of their products use current news and pop culture for the designs, check out these great options- 80's Tees, Animals, Geeky, Movies, Party, Rock, and even a whole section of New products. I worked with Katie, who was very helpful and easygoing. She quickly agreed to work with us and told me how to go about ordering any shirt I wanted for the review. The ordering was very simple and shipping was fast.
After browsing through all of the options in Mens, Womens, and Kids, I decided to let Beckett choose a shirt. There were so many cute and funny options I knew he would enjoy picking out something just for him. He is very choosy when it comes to his clothing, so I knew we would have to do elimination rounds to get to our final pick (isn't that how all life choices should be?)
B originally had it down between these two tee options,
but ultimately ordered a third option when a few new shirts became available:
Our Headline Shirts package has arrived!
I loved the shipping bag, it is unique and the fact that it is 100% biodegradable is such a plus!
Inside our fun shipping bag was our even more fun Headline Shirt
He had to immediately put it on and wear it the rest of the day. He loved it and kept talking about his big ears shirt. He thought this shirt was hilarious and was insistent that it was a Chihuahua (which it is not-it is a Fennec Fox). He even went on to tell me that when he wears it to school, he was going to ask his buddy Stephan to agree it was a Chihuahua because Stephan knows a whole lot about animals. I am quickly learning that Moms don't know as much as kindergarten friends, ouch.
The Great Listener shirt is great because B is a selective listener majority of the time so this shirt's irony is pretty good, it has gotten some pretty great responses from other parents too.
While very easy to wash, in cold water, Headline Shirts are made to shrink about 10% in a hot dryer, so I made sure to hang it dry. It came out so nicely and didn't even look like I had washed it, not many shirts can say that.
I will definitely continue to watch Headline Shirts because they are always introducing new tees. I can't wait to find more unique and funny tees for B to wear and standout.
Two other options that I think are pretty funny:
