Innovia Paper Towel Dispenser (Review & Giveaway)

How many times have you used an automatic hand towel dispenser and thought, I wish I had something like this at home? Well, I do every time I'm out in public. I hate touching the paper towel dispensers, they hold so many germs and frankly mine was always falling over when I would try to rip one off. I really wanted to move up in the technological world, and in came Innovia.

What's Innovia, you might ask? Innovia is an automatic paper towel dispenser, and it is one of the best things to ever happen to my family. Innovia mounts underneath your cabinet with just a few screws and a very simple to follow template. Once the base is mounted to your cabinet of choice, you simply slide Innovia onto the base and plug in the power cord and you are ready to go. Innovia also runs off of batteries if you don't have a lot of outlets in your kitchen. Luckily enough, I have plenty, so it was not a problem for me.

Innovia Automatic Paper Towel Dispenser

Once Innovia is plugged in you will notice a red light at the hand sensor. The red light is an indicator that you are out of paper towels, or that the dispenser needs to be reset. Our power went out over the weekend and I noticed when I woke up that the red light was on. I just unplugged it and everything was fine. Adding your paper towels is a breeze. Pull open the innovia and add your paper towels, making sure when you close the lid, that the paper towels are pulled out so you can see them. The innovia will sense that and suck the towels back in. Once it is set, you will have a blue light where the hand sensor is, indicating the dispenser is ready to go.

Red Light Showing Door is Not Shut All The Way

So, we're ready to roll, literally! There is a small black oval at the top of the Innovia, that is the hand sensor. This took me a few tries to get down pat, at first I tried waving my hand back and forth, and found that didn't work for me. I find if  you hold your hand in front of the sensor, the towels come out every time. This is my own personal way, you all may find that waving back and forth works for you. Wave your hand twice, you'll get two towels, three times and you'll get three , and you get the jist. Also, you might want to experiment with paper towel brands, too. I normally use a thinner, select a size brand, but found that it caused the paper to rip unevenly and jam the dispenser. I switched to a thicker brand and now I have no problem with the towels tearing off.

Just A Simple Motion And Out Pops The Towel

Innovia comes in four colors, black, silver, white, red and is extremely cost effective at $99.99. I would pay double that amount for the Innovia. I chose silver because it matched most of my appliances, but the black is very nice, too. either would look fantastic in a kitchen, but don't limit yourself to the kitchen, Innovia is perfect for the bathroom, garage, laundry room, really any place you can mount it. It really is a cool product. I am a very messy cook and I like to turn the sink on before I wash my hands so I don't spread germs. Usually I take a paper towel and turn on the sink, but I was always knocking over the paper towel holder and making an even bigger mess. Now, I just hold my hand in front of the dispenser and boom, no mess, and a clean paper towel! Love it!!!

Paper Towel Is Ready To Go!

Innovia was truly put to the test while I was cooking. I was making dinner for my family, and I had a bag with milk and eggs that my meat was marinating in. I opened the bag and set it on the counter, everything was fine until I had three steaks cooking on the stove, one hand covered in flour and another covered in a meat slurry. I turned to check on my potatoes whipping in the mixer and bam, i knocked over the bag with the milk and eggs. The mixture went everywhere. I was fit to be tied, but Innovia and my husband came to the rescue! He moved me aside, and quickly began to wave his hand in front of the Innovia, grabbing as many paper towels as he could. He quickly wiped up the mess and every thing was clean in a matter of minutes. No touching the roll with our germy hands, no having to throw out the rest of the roll. It was so nice and worked so well.

Close Up Of Sensor At Work

That's the biggest plus side to Innovia, keeping the germs at bay. No one wants to spread germs and illness to their family and friends. Being able to swipe your hand and automatically have a paper towel dispensed at your every whim keeps the germs away. Plus, your kids will have a blast being able to get it themselves. A friend's son was over for lunch and we had him believing it was magic. Granted, he is only 5, but still it was cool to see him thinking he was making the paper towels dispense by magic!

The Innovia is a life changer and it fits so well into our daily lives. I don't know how we ever lived without the Innovia, it is such a great product and I am honored that I was able to review it. 11. The Innvio would certainly keep the paper towels germ free, also keep them from absorbing food oders from cooking.

  21. Oh this would be a miracle in our home! I was diagnosed with celiac disease about 5 years ago, and have to eat gluten free. My sons family moved back home with me and they do not eat gluten free. So, I have to be so careful of cross contamination of my food so I dont get sick, and wash my hands so much! I have to wash kitchen towels all the time, as I am afraid to use one in case they used it with gluten on their hands. This would be a miracle in our home!
