Jess' Journey: The Road To A Healthier Me
I've Made It A Month
Well Readers, it has been over a month of my journey and it is going along well. Im really starting to miss some things like pop, chips, and other unhealthy treats. I treat myself on occasion, but its really hard to say no when you're craving things. Luckily Bestowed Box has come to the rescue just in time!
This month Bestowed Box has sent me a totally GMO free box of yummy snacks and treats. I was super grateful to see chips and candy in the box this time! It wasn't just any candy either, it was PEANUT BUTTER CUPS!!!
Each month the boxes try to stick to some sort of theme. This month (October) was a GMO free box. GMOs are a VERY hot topic right now. GMOs are genetically modified organism whos genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. GMOs aren't labeled in the USA, but the small amount of research that has been done is showing that GMOs might not be very good for us. However, we know that they require a large amount of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Doesn't sound like stuff Id really like to put in my body. Here is what came in my box:
I haven't had a chance to try either of these drink mixes, but both of them sound good. |
I haven't had a chance to try this fiber bar either but I love cinnamon raisin flavor so Im sure its going to be a tasty treat. |
These are a yummy twist on your traditional tortilla chips but hit the spot when you get that salty craving. |
This fruit and seed mix was a nice change from traditional trail mix. It was nut free but salty and sweet. It would be great for a hike in the woods. |
Peanut butter cups ladies and gents! Non GMO peanut butter cups!! |
Way to go, Jess! So proud of you & your accomplishments thus far! Very inspiring! -O-
