Nonni's Biscotti- the Perfect Sweet and Scrumptious Italian Treat! #Review + #Giveaway

Every now and then, I need a little pick-me-up in the afternoon hours. I usually prepare a cup of coffee or tea, and sometimes, if I have something sweet in the house, I'll enjoy a little cookie with the warm beverage. Since I'm trying super hard not to eat a lot of junk, I only buy treats for my son, and since I'm not the best baker in the world, I usually steer clear of baking, unless there's a reason to.

I became a biscotti lover a long time ago. First off, my grandmother's family, the Caratenutos, are Italian (like, way Italian). Even though my heritage is pretty mixed, I like to claim the Italian in me, more than anything else. When my sister and I were young adults, we often enjoyed Saturday shopping trips with my parents, where we would have a big breakfast at home, and then head out for the rest of the day. In leiu of lunch out, we would always stop for coffee and a biscotti. It was a nice little tide-over until dinner, a jot of caffeine and sweet, but low calorie treat! I grew accustomed to biscotti with my coffee, and it's still one of my favorite Italian treats today.

When I ran across Nonni's Biscotti just before the holidays, I knew I'd found a company that made a delicious biscotti. Nonni's Biscotti was established in Lucca, Italy, where 'Nonni,' (which means grandmother in Italian), began making her delicious biscotti treats to share with her friends and famly. It's been almost a century since Nonni came to America, and brought her biscotti recipe along with her. Nonni's Biscotti remains deidcated to quality, and has stuck with Nonni's original recipe. Nonni's uses the finest ingredients like eggs, butter and gourmet bittersweet chocolate in their biscotti. It's the number one selling biscotti brand on the market today, and the only national brand sold coast to coast.

Biscotti is an authentic Italian treat, gaining popularity, thanks to movies, television and coffee shops. Nonni's has been featured on television shows like FRIENDS, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and has been featured in several award show baskets, including the Oscars. If these Biscotti were good enough for Hollywood's finest, I knew they had to be good!

I was excited to connect with Nonni's, and be sent a sampler box of biscotti to try.

I was thrilled to find not just one or two, but four boxes of Biscotti samples from Nonni's Biscotti! The boxes were so bright and colorful, that they attracted B right away. As I removed the boxes from their shipping box and looked them over, my mouth started watering. All I could think about was a hot cup of vanilla chai tea and one of these biscotti's being dunked into my tea cup.

Nonni's Biscotti comes in several delicious flavors. I received Limone, Cioccolati, Salted Caramel and Toffee Almond.

Each box of Biscotti contained ten individually wrapped biscotti, and not a single one of them arrived crushed or broken! The pictures of the biscotti that appeared on each box looked so, so good that I couldn't wait to taste one. B had never really seen a biscotti before, so I took the opportunity to tell him a little bit about the Italian treat. We're already learning Italian together at home, so adding this in seemed appropriate.

B was excited to pick out his own biscotti to try, and wanted to taste the Salted Caramel.

After I removed the wrap from B's biscotti, I carefully sliced it into small bite sized pieces for him. He was hooked after just one bite, exclaiming how yummy it was. The funny little guy then walked around the house saying, 'delizioso,' over and over again. Then, it was my turn for a little taste test. I knew my husband would want to try the Sea Salt and Caramel variety, so I opened one of those up for him. As I looked at it, I could see the caramel in the biscotti, and the combination of the sea salt and chocolate drizzle on the top looked like it tasted amazing.

My husband raved on and on about the Sea Salt and Caramel Biscotti. He is a huge fan of sweet and salty, and he said the combination of the sweetness already in the biscotti, combined with the semi-sweet chocolate and the salt was out of this world delicious!

I wanted to give the Ciocolatti Biscotti a try... can you tell why?

The Ciocolatti is the classic, original biscotti, dipped in semisweet chocolate. What's not to love? The biscotti is crunchy, yet melts in your mouth. The chocolate is the perfect addition to this sweet little treat, and one of these is only 110 calories! It's the perfect little treat that won't undo your workout!

Of course, I like to dunk my biscotti into my coffee or tea, but you can enjoy them on their own. I love the Limone biscotti with a cup of tea, and the Almond Toffee biscotti is every bit as sticky and delicious as you might imagine! These are so wonderful to have on hand. They travel well in the car, if you like to keep snacks in the car for yourself, or for your kids. I like having these at home in case I receive unexpected company. Sometimes my dad drops by to take a break from work if he's putting in a 12-13 hour day, and I learned from my grandmother that I ought to always have something in my house to offer an unexpected guest.
