This is a Fashionista Event Opportunity, and is hosted by Still Blonde after all these YEARS and Modly Chic.
Hey there, fashionistas! As we wind down these last few weeks of summer, I can't help but get my mind off of fall. Fall just happens to be my favorite season of the year, and with cozy knits, scarves, cute boots, the changing leaves, and pumpkin spice flavored and scented everything, what's not to love? I definitely have the fall bug, and I have even started thinking ahead to what I might want to wear this fall season. Last time I checked my wardrobe, a lot of my fall apparel consists of dark, muted colors... and the color so to speak, is lacking.
Color never goes out of style, and at Monroe and Main, you’ll find the latest pops of rich, saturated shades, tones, and moods showing up as chic accents and making bold statements. Fall is just as good a time as any other time of year to play up color big time! I was lucky enough to have been chosen to select a colorful dress from our friends at Monroe and Main, who have so many beautiful, colorful options this fall season. Everything I saw from Monroe and Main was so gorgeous, but one dress in particular caught my eye, and was absolutely something I could see myself wearing.
Introducing the beautiful Slimming Sassy Dress in Emerald by Monroe and Main.
I fell in love with the Slimming Sassy Dress as soon as I laid eyes on it, for several reasons. The name of the dress highlights some of its best features... it is both slimming and incredibly sassy! I loved not only the color of the dress, but the beautiful design, which is pretty and flirty, but is also extremely practical for a mom who is constantly chasing after her precious little one.
Slimming features, and striking color.
The Monroe and Main Slimming Sassy Dress is what I would consider a fall wardrobe staple. The dress has such an effortless, yet chic look to it. The three quarter length sleeve is absolutely perfect for the changing season. I'm not opposed to layering, but it's so nice to now have a beautiful dress in my collection, that I don't have to hide with a sweater, because my arms are too chilly in the early morning or in the evening.
Shall I practice my curtsy? I feel pretty enough to take tea with Queen Elizabeth!
I might have uttered a little 'hallelujah,' when I realized how seamlessly I was able to move in this dress. It's a nice blend of rayon and spandex, so it's nice and flowy at the bottom, fitted at the top, and it moves with me, instead of against me. There is nothing worse or more uncomfortable that wearing a dress that you wind up having to fight with.
The Slimming Sassy Dress hits in all the right places.
It's so nice to find a dress that flatters your entire body. I am a bit disproportioned, as I have a short middle, small bust, and long legs. I often have a problem with dressed fitting me well enough across the chest, and leaving enough room to wear comfortably in the hips. Monroe and Main's Slimming Sassy Dress features a surplice neckline, and an empire waistband. The combination of these two elements make me look like I actually have a fuller bust, and I love that! It's a great feeling to be able to confidently wear a dress like this, which is modest, yet alluring at the same time.
Style it up with shoes and accessories to play up the color!
I could think of countless ways to style this lovely dress. I am a pretty traditional girl when it comes to my personal style- think pearls and pumps, so I wanted to stay true to that, while having a bit of fun with some items I already owned. For a shoe choice, I feel that a black pump, slingback or mule never goes out of style. Some may see wearing a shoe of this nature as a play of the safe card, but it all comes down to what makes you feel comfortable, and for me, it comes down to what I feel comfortable wearing around my energetic son.
Pumps, necklace and earrings just boost the classy look of the Slimming Sassy Dress.
I chose to add a chunky garnet colored necklace and pair of earrings to this ensemble. Garnet is my birthstone, and I never even appreciated the beauty of its color until I became an adult. I now look for ways to wear my garnet jewelry pieces, as many of them were given to me as special gifts by my parents, grandmother, husband and son. The garnet and emerald jewel tones look so striking against one another- a beautiful out of the box fall color combination that will definitely turn a few heads.
Hey sassy, don't forget the shades!
I am one of those women who loves to accessories with sunglasses, too! I never leave the house without them, and those I have several pairs of sunglasses, I pretty much stick to one pair of designer shades that I just love, because they go with everything- including my new Slimming Sassy Dress!
The temperatures will still be warm well into October here in North Carolina, but I plan on wearing this beauty of a dress through the winter. Right now, I can enjoy wearing pumps or sandals with the Slimming Sassy Dress, but I know that I will want a little something on my legs as the cooler temperatures begin to set in this fall. I wanted to quickly show you that you can change the look of this dress right up, with a simple shoe and accessories swap.
From office or Sunday chic to a casual weekend in the country... this dress is the ultimate go to dress for every occasion!
I pulled on my favorite brown riding boots with the Slimming Sassy Dress, for a bit of casual coverage. I also added a long green and gold toned necklace, a two toned metal watch, and a mixed leather and metal wrap bracelet, stacked with the watch for a bit of contrast. See how easy it was to change up the look? I am now on the hunt for some purple accessories, as I think this emerald green color would look gorgeous with a bit of purple and blue thrown into the mix!
Monroe and Main makes it so easy to be stylish, comfortable, and to be bold by wearing color this season, when everyone else is dressed in drab, boring muted tones. Don't be a wallflower! Take a risk with a bit of color, and be confident in a beautiful Monroe and Main dress, pair of shoes or accessory piece! Oh, that's right- Monroe and Main has got you covered from head to toe with stylish options for every fashionista!
Take a look at a few of my favorite selections from the Monroe and Main Colors of the Season Collection, which I'd love to try with the Slimming Sassy Dress...
Flower Puff Ballerina
Cool Croc Organizer Tote
Studded Calf Shootie
Padlock Handbag
I can't wait to wow friends and family by wearing the beautiful, versatile Slimming Sassy Dress this fall! My husband is already in love with me in this dress, by the way. Since I can wear it so many different ways, I know that it's the perfect pick for Preschool orientation and open house, celebrations, Thanksgiving dinner, and perhaps even Christmas Eve! The Slimming Sassy Dress is also available in black and berry, and is machine washable.
