My Husband, Cory, is a good, hard working man. He doesn't ask for much, and is more than willing to go above and beyond what is expected of him. This often means that he is working nearly 70 hours a week and it can take a toll on his body. He doesn't complain, but there are many days when I know his feet are tired and sore, and his body feels like it is falling apart. He knows how important it is to take care of his body, and that starts with his feet.
Cory normally wears a steel toe work boot during the winter months, and sneakers during the warmer months. He is on his feet all day, and goes through shoes quicker than I do! We were both looking for a new, lighter boot for him to wear to work. We were given a chance to review the new Empire WR series from Lugz and Cory was more than happy to give them a try.
Lugz is a shoe and apparel company that offers styles for the whole family. Their new Empire WR line offers many different high, mid and low styles of boots. Cory decided he'd like to try their new Empire Hi WR in Chocolate/Bark/Cream/Gum, which retails for $89.99. We both thought that is a fantastic price since most of his other boots has cost well over $100.00. What really made the boots stand out is the fact that they are Slip Resistant, Water Resistant, and have a Flexa-Stride Memory Foam Sock Liner.
When the boots arrived, it was like Christmas morning for Cory. He was so excited to open the box and check out his new boots. Right away he noticed the quality of the boots, and how sturdy it is. The boot is a deep chocolate, suede like material, and they are really soft. The soles of the boots are a lot thicker, and have more grip than most other boots, and that added to the appeal for Cory.
Lugz Empire Hi WR Boots, they look so sharp!
He was eager to try them on, and asked me if I wanted to head out to lunch? Of course I'm not going to turn down a meal I don't have to cook. I waited while he put on the boots and laced them up, asking him what he thought of them so far? " They are easier than my other boots to lace, and seem to fit better, too!" he said. I was happy that he liked them so far. Driving was comfortable for him, walking in them was a breeze, but the true test would be how he felt after a long day at work.
Side and Front View. Look how they pop against all that red!
On Monday morning, he laced up his Lugz, Empire Hi WR boots, and headed off to work. After a few hours, I decided to text him and see how the boots were holding up. He said they felt great on his feet, he really loved the memory foam liner and the slip resistant soles helped him move quicker around the large machines and made him feel safer when he is up high on a scissor lift. The only thing he didn't like, is how stiff the back of the boot, towards his ankle is. But, he knows it just takes time to break it in, and become more flexible.
Cory, heading outside to help me take down our Halloween decorations.
He was not thrilled to help since it was so cold, but his feet were warm!
Many of his co-workers were asking him where they cold get a pair of boots like his. Cory never likes to be the center of attention. especially when it comes to his clothes. He's a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. So it embarrassed him to be the center of attention, especially for a pair of shoes. He said he felt like a bunch of teenage girls, standing around discussing shoes, but he was more than happy to tell them that they are Lugz, and happily pointed to where they could order some.
He's starting to lose patience with me. I kept saying, just one more.
Cory is so happy with his new Lugz, and I'm happy that he found a pair that are so versatile, and can be cleaned so easily. If he spills water or steps in a puddle, he's able to simply wipe the water and keep his feet dry and boots looking brand new. His favorite thing about the boots would have to be the flexa-stride memory foam liners. After spending hours on his feet, his feet were not tired or achy. He stated it felt like he was walking on a mattress all day, he loved it! He also noticed that the memory foam liners helped take some of the stress off of his knees, and that is huge for him. He was a wrestler in school, and because of this, he has very bad pain. Since the start of wearing these boots, he has not complained once about knee pain.
Cory is so happy that he has found a boot that is sturdy and actually helps his stamina.
