These days, we're all about following what's currently trending. From hashtags on Twitter to the fashion runways and Pinterest boards, we want to know and eat, drink, read, craft, wear, and do what's trending. I enjoy following the fashion trends. I like to keep up with them, and though I know that I will probably never walk out of my house wearing a runway style, I know that I am at least on trend with popular seasonal pieces, colors, style, etc. Since so many people follow these same trends, however, it can be a bit maddening when you start seeing everyone wearing the exact same thing. Being able to put your own individual twist on a trend is definitely worth doing.
One way to make something your own, is to put your name on it- literally. I'm talking about monogramming. Monogramming is very popular, especially in the South, where I live. I love monogrammed apparel and accessories- can't get enough of them, actually.
So when I ran across The Pink Monogram, and laid eyes on all of the beautiful designs, and adorable fonts available, I knew I had to reach out to owner, Monica, to see if we could showcase her beautiful work on Mommy's Block Party. Monica grew up in Summerville, SC, and after college, became a teacher. Monica taught for over 20 years, but truly always wanted to start her own business. So, about nine years ago, she resigned from teaching, and began her own shop and internet business. She hit the ground running with The Pink Monogram, and hasn't stopped since. Monica makes all types of items, particularly those that she would look for in stores, and couldn't find. Monica was named Greenville SC's Business Person on the Year in 2007, her business made the 'O' List on Oprah.com in 2008, and again was featured in 'O' Magazine in July of 2010, for her High Heeled Women's Clogs!
I was pleased to connect with Monica, through her PR representative, and was offered an item of my choice for review, from a pre-determined list of items. I took care to take my time choosing the item, but had a feeling that I would wind up selecting the first item that caught my attention on the list... and I did!
My package was sent out within just days of my sending my selection back to The Pink Monogram. The meant that the work and shipping was quick!
My item from The Pink Monogram was all wrapped up in tissue paper, and sealed closed with a cute Pink Monogram sticker.
I know you're eager to see what I chose, so here we go...
Yes- a denim jacket!
My Pink Monogram item cam with a 'Thank you for your order card,' directly from The Pink Monogram shop. I was excited to see the denim jacket, and couldn't wait to unfold it and take a closer look at it. I chose the jacket for a couple of reasons- denim jackets are once again in style, and they're great to pair with skirts and dresses this fall season!
Here's my lovely monogram!
This jacket is not your ordinary denim jacket, though. Coming from The Pink Monogram, this is a Monogrammed Denim Jacket! Oh yes- so not only is it super stylish, it's personalized! When I looked at the item listing for this jacket on The Pink Monogram website, I noticed the cut of the jacket. All too often, denim jackets look bulky, and don't do anything for anyone's figure. This jacket, however, has been made with shape in mind. The classic denim jacket has been reworked, and transformed into a form fitting jacket, with a gently contoured silhouette
Can't go wrong with a classic denim on denim look!

I love the fit and the monogram being on the back!
The jacket is modern, both in fit and style. I selected a size small, which fits well, when buttoned across the chest, and leaves a bit of room if I were to layer a sweater underneath. I wound up rolling the sleeves up a bit the first couple of times I wore the jacket, when the weather was a bit mild. I love the details of the jacket, especially the cute pockets on the chest, and the button detail.
For the monogram, I opted to have the monogram put on the back of the jacket. I appreciated having that option, and that the monogramming was available in so many different fonts and thread colors.
TC Script Style Monogram- 3 Letters.
There are 27 thread colors to choose from! I went with a classic white, as I thought that it would stand out well from the denim color of the jacket, and would go with anything I chose to wear. After I selected my thread color, I needed to decide what type of monogram I wanted- single letter, or three letters. There are seven single letter options, and 21 three letter monogram options. I chose the TC Script style. I loved the delicate, interlocking letters, and the circle design of this style- it didn't look like a design that I have seen much of around where I live, which appealed to me.
I have worn my Monogrammed Denim Jacket from The Pink Monogram on several occasions. I find that it's the perfect jacket to slip into when I am headed out to run errands, playing outside with my son, etc. It looks great paired with more denim, and looks super stylish paired with a dress or skirt, and a pretty scarf. I love wearing scarves this time of year, and since the monogram is on the back of the jacket, it won't be covered up by the scarf, like it might be, if I had it monogrammed on the front.
