Valentine's Day is nearly upon us, and many of us have begun the search for the perfect outfit, hair, restaurant, and even nails. While I'm not sure if Cory and I will be doing anything special this year, it doesn't meant that I haven't been secretly planning out a look just in case. I've got the dress already, and the shoes, I even picked out the perfect hairstyle, but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do with my nails. I know it seems silly, but I have been trying to paint them and decorate them more, and I feel like Valentine's Day is the perfect occasion to show my nails some love.
I have a few favorite brands of polish, but recently I discovered a brand that I am now in love with called SinfulColors. They have an amazing variety of shades, and they are always coming out with new colors for different seasons, and they stay ahead of the trends. In honor of Valentine's Day, they have a new line called Flirt with Hearts, that offer 8 sensuous hues perfect for you and your love.
Flirt With Hearts Collection Includes:
24/7: Their Hottest Pink
Daredevil: A Pop Of Neon Pink
Decadent: Dazzling Red with Metallic Flakes
Dream On: A Brilliantly Induced Boysenberry
Go Go Girl: A Sleek and Sexy Candy-Apple Red
Love Sprinkles: Bubble Gum Pink Gleaming with White Hearts
and Flecks Of Glitter
Pinky Glitter: Bright Pink with a Splash of Sparkle
Rise and Shine: The Perfect Teal
I was able to choose four shades to try and I picked: 24/7, Decadent, Love Sprinkles, and Rise and Shine.
From Left to Right: Love Sprinkles, 24/7, Rise and Shine and Decadent.
I've swatched them on vellum paper for you all to see.
I think SinfulColors made this line just for me. I'm a huge fan of pinks, teal and glitter. I was beyond excited to try them out and see how they looked first hand. I do want to point out that I am not the greatest at painting my fingernails. Toes, I can do pretty well but hands, I'm still mastering the art. A few days before the polish arrived, I made sure to soak my nails and push back my cuticles as much as possible.
From Left to Right: Decadent, 24/7 Love Sprinkles, and Rise and Shine!
When my package from SinfulColors arrived, I was in awe at just how vibrant the polish is. All the colors stood out from each other, yet somehow beautifully went together like a designer's runway collection. I could not wait to try them all out, and quickly got my nail box with all my tools, so I could begin testing them out.
I first tried out Rise and Shine, the perfect teal! I'm in love with the color teal, it has got to be one of my all time favorite colors. So when it was offered in this collection, I just knew I would not be disappointed. I always start with my thumb nail, and began to paint it with little effort. The polish is not too thick, and it doesn't run all over the place like other's do. I was able to swipe it on and in no time, it was already dry, I went on to paint the rest of my hand, and was surprised that I really didn't need a second coat. The teal is gorgeous and pops all on it's own. Pair this color with anything and it is sure to stand out and be the star of the show.
Rise and Shine
Love Rise and Shine, so bright and beachy.
I'm ready to head to the shore!
I decided that I wanted to try Love Sprinkles next. When testing it out, I noticed that while it was pretty on its own, with the heart shaped glitter and tiny flecks of glitter, I thought it would make a great top coat. Oh the possibilities are endless with this one. I kept thinking of different ways you could mix and match this one. I decided that I loved Rise and Shine so much I wanted to add the Love Sprinkles over top and see what this pink beauty would do. I couldn't be happier, it added just the right amount of glitter and shine to the nail and I love the hearts. I could easily see myself painting just one nail with this and adding a heart to each of the other colored nails. It's playful and sexy at the same time. And, my husband, who hates all things glitter, actually said he liked my nails! Go figure!
Love Sprinkles!
Rise and Shine as a base coat, Love Sprinkles as a Top on all nails,
and Decadent added to my ring finger!
Next I tried 24/7 , a very hot pink! Wow! I can't even begin to describe how great this color looks on my nails. I sometimes stay away from hot pink because I am so pale, I think a paler pink looks best on me. However; I was so impressed with 24/7 and I actually was asked recently by a gal in Church what nail polish I was wearing. She claimed it was the perfect shade of pink for this time of year! I agree, it really is the perfect shade of pink to brighten up this winter. It's been warmer here in Oklahoma, and many people are already wearing brighter shades and 24/7 is the perfect addition to my winter wardrobe. This color would be perfect for anyone, but on valentines day, it's sure to add extra excitement and your date is sure to notice!
24/7
I love this color so much! Kind of reminds me of Barbie!
The last color I tried is Decadent, a dazzling red with metallic flakes. This one I took a risk on, I wasn't too sure about it but decided to try it. I was hesitant at first, I love glitter, but I've never tried a red glitter polish. I'm not sure what I was so afraid of because the second I began to paint my nails, I could clearly see how lovely it is. The red is deep and the metallic flakes aren't too heavy. I loved how it could simply be the shining moment on its own, or if you want to add some extra drama, paint your nails black or Marsala and then add Decadent over top. Holy Cow, it takes it to a different level and adds a depth that would look stunning with a little black dress. This is actually my choice of polish for Valentine's day even if we just stay home, my nails will be perfect!
Decadent!
24/7 as a base, and Decadent as a glitter tip. I wasn't too sure about this at first, but I got a lot of compliments when I was shopping at Ulta!
