A Day at Home is Like a Day at the Spa with Jewelry In Candles #Review + #Giveaway

As soon as the weather starts turning nice, I go into full on spring-mode. I want the house cleaned, the windows open, the sheets dried out in the sun, flowers planted around the house, etc. I want to kiss winter goodbye, completely! After I do a bit of spring cleaning, one of my favorite springtime rituals is changing out the scents in my home. I swap the bakery scents for fresh, clean scents, which make me want to relax.

I am a huge fan of the scented home. Since I work from home, I spend a lot of time there. I need my house to be de-cluttered, and lovely, so I can stay focused while I am working. I love using wax warmers, but I also love candles, and now that my son is a little older, I have started burning candles at home again, as long as they are out of his reach. There's just something so warm and inviting about the soft glow of a candle, not to mention its scent!

Megan kindly offered to send me a candle, so I could get the full Jewelry In Candles experience. I love candles, jewelry, and surprises, so this was a win-win for me! Megan wanted to send me the Day At The Spa candle, which couldn't have been a better choice! Megan knows a thing or two about moms who tend to become a bit stressed out, and figured this would be perfect for this over-extended momma! I couldn't wait to receive the candle, because a day at the spa sounded heavenly, but nearly impossible. I was eager for a spa day at home!

My Jewelry In Candles package arrived, and this was the box the candle was packaged in.

Right on the box, I was informed that my candle was hand poured in the USA!

I opened the box to find that the candle was well-wrapped, and protected during shipping.

Here was my first glimpse of the candle- A Day At The Spa, by Jewelry In Candles.

At first glance, I was already in love with the product. I could tell that this was a quality candle, just by looking at the glass jar the candle was poured into. This was thick, nicely shaped glass, and I knew it would be a beautiful showpiece! I also loved the label, which incorporated the JIC logo, a beautiful image, and told me information about the candle itself, including the name of the scent, that it was a 21 oz candle, and had a burn time of 100+ hours. It also informed me that this was an all natural soy candle.

I love the color of the wax- green is my favorite color, and this particular shade of green is just a beautiful way to usher in the spring season!

Again, a nice, bold and beautiful label, bearing the JIC logo!

The candle also comes with a thick lid, so you can place the jar topper back on the candle, when not in use, and it looks like a beautiful part of your decor!

I was so excited to smell the Day At The Spa candle by Jewelry In Candles. The thought of being able to experience a day at the spa without having to leave my house sounded all too wonderful! The spa fragrance is infused with natural lemongrass, lime and patchouli essential oils.

I trimmed the wick just a bit, before lighting the candle. I first burned the candle when I was home alone, and immediately, the scents of the candle were filling the air of my home. I am usually pretty antsy, but I felt very calm and relaxed while this candle was burning. I was so impressed by what a clean burn this candle has. No soot or smoke, or crazy high flame, and no soot collecting on the glass, either.

As much as I wanted to find out what my jewelry surprise was, I knew I would have to wait a bit longer before I would be able to unearth the pouch that contained the jewelry. So, I let the candle burn for a few more days. The neat thing about Jewelry In Candles, is that you can select what type of jewelry you'd like the candle to contain. I wanted to stay away from rings. I have pretty thin fingers, and have trouble finding rings that will fit me, without having to be re-sized. So, Megan sent me a necklace jewelry candle. I do want to note, however, that JIC allows you to select the ring size, if you'd like a ring candle, which is pretty cool! Although I knew that I would be getting a necklace, I had no idea what type of necklace it would be. I couldn't wait to find out!

After burning the candle for a few more days, I finally got to a point where I clearly saw the jewelry pouch, and was ready to try to pull it out.

The pouch was still pretty stuck into the solid soy wax, so I used my tweezers to help pull the foil pouch out, being very careful as not to splash the hot soy wax.

I laid the pouch on a paper towel, and wiped off as much of the wax as I was able to.

I removed the foil from the little plastic bag that contained the necklace.

A little bit of the wax did get into the plastic pouch, and onto the necklace, but I was able to easily clean it. I caught a glimpse of the necklace through the pouch, and was so excited to see a pretty blue stone! I love wearing blue, so I knew this would be right up my alley- whatever it was!

And here's the necklace, out of the bag, and cleaned.

The necklace that came with my candle is so beautiful! It looks similar to the gorgeous stone that Princess Diana wore for so long.

The necklace is a lovely cut, and sits on a pretty, yet simple chain. It's a lovely choice for an every day outfit, or for a special occasion! I look forward to wearing this beautiful necklace for a very long time!

Even though I have retrieved the jewelry from my candle, I still have hours and hours of burn time left on my candle! I have been enjoying it in the evenings, and have even lit it in the bathroom, while enjoying a nice bath, reading during the evening hours, and sipping a nice, crisp glass of wine. It is the epitome of relaxation, and would make an absolutely beautiful gift for someone you care about! I will be sad when I no longer have A Day At The Spa left to burn, but I'll just have to try a new scent, and order a candle from Megan!
