In the late spring and summer, I love to live in comfy, breathable fabrics that flatter. My family isn't on the go any less during the summer than we are any other time of the year, so my style needs to be effortless and easy to wear. I look for styles that can take me from the work day to play dates, out to dinner, to a musicians rehearsal, to story time with my little guy at the end of the day. Pieces that can be mixed and matched are always a great idea, as well as easy to wear dresses for day or night!

Not long ago, I ran across Gaia Couture, an eco-friendly fashion boutique. Gaia has always aimed to help women look and feel beautiful. Owner Joy has a passion for sharing eco-friendly fashions with women, and educating the community about what the fashion industry really looks like- the behind the scenes stuff that no one really wants the consumer to know about.

Organic apparel is so amazingly comfortable. If you've never worn organic cotton before, or perhaps bamboo, you're missing out on pure luxury and comfort. I wish I could own nothing but organic apparel (for my husband and son, as well), and am working on slowly, but surely making some major shifts in my personal dress.

I was thrilled for the opportunity to connect with Joy at Gaia Couture, who kindly offered to send me a few pieces from her Eco-Friendly Fashion Boutique! I passed along a few options that caught my eye when I browsed the Gaia Couture shop, and truth be told- I really loved everything I saw. Narrowing my selections down was not easy!

I was pleased to find a note from Joy. It meant a lot that she took time to send a note, herself.

Joy hand-selected the pieces she sent to me from Gaia, and I wasn't sure what I would be receiving. I definitely had a few favorites on the list I provided, and couldn't wait to see what I wound up with.

Inside, I found three beautiful garments, and was thrilled to find that they just so happened to be my top three picks!

All of the fabric felt incredibly soft. As soon as I picked a piece up to examine it, I wanted to wear it, immediately! It's both fun and frustrating when you have to make your clothes wait their turn for you to wear them! Though all of the pieces I received were fantastic, and I knew they would all be easy to wear, I wanted to start with the skirt.

Luxe Skirt in Navy

I absolutely adore this skirt! I love the dark blue color, and love the longer length. Far too often, we want to ditch the longer length at the first sign of warm weather, but this skirt offers sleek, stylish coverage, and keeps you cool while wearing it. I styled the skirt with a plain white tee, statement necklace, and red heeled sandals. I didn't need to go overboard with a top to go with the skirt. By keeping it simple, and using a statement necklace as a main accessory, the skirt became the true anchor of this outfit.

I was so comfortable in the Luxe Skirt, that I kept it on all day. I had planned just to wear it to church, but I didn't want to take it off when we got home. 

The graceful, slightly A-line Luxe Skirt is casual and easy for a summer's day of errands or Sunday brunch. Add a cute tee and scarf and you'll be showing your romantic side. I also received the beautiful Renee Dress in Julep Brush, which I proudly wore to B's Preschool (3 year old class) Graduation.

The Renee Dress is everything one could want in a simple, yet sophisticated summer dress! The mint and white brush design/print is just beautiful, and oh, so summery! 3/4 length sleeves are perfect for the transition from spring to summer. I love having a bit of a sleeve when I am going to be inside for an extended period of time (air conditioning always makes me so chilly!), and when I'm out on a cool evening.

I have already worn this dress a couple of times. It has quickly become one of my favorite summer pieces. It looks great when worn alone, or with cute capri leggings, and even with a an open cardigan. Wear it with sandals, wedges, etc- dress it up or down for a look you'll love! I have received many compliments on this dress, and plan on wearing it through the summer season. I'll have bridal and baby showers to attend, and this dress is coming with me!

Just the right amount of flirty, dressy or casual for your lifestyle, the Renee dress is so versatile you'll want one in both green and black so you can wear this style more often. Made from super soft bamboo, it's as comfortable as it is cute. The futuristic, digitally inspired print feels right on time for this spring, summer and beyond. A great investment for your wardrobe!

The third piece I received, is the Side Gathered Top. Now, when I first saw this piece, I thought that I might be able to get away with wearing it was a dress... I tried it on, and it was just a wee bit too short for my liking as far as dresses go. This tunic-length top looks fabulous, however, with leggings! I have a pair of capri leggings in black that I have worn this top with, and I love the combination! I have also worn it with white leggings, and it looked very chic! I immediately thought of carrying a straw handbag with this, and wearing cute wedges or summer flat sandals. This is a great piece to wear when you've got a full day of running to do, and is so comfortable to wear when traveling! I wore this when we drove to the beach (3.5 hour drive), and felt comfy the entire time.

Heads will turn when you step out in this unusual and creative style. A row of ruching down the left half of the Side Gather Top adds visual interest and makes this piece extra flattering. Wear it over jeans or leggings as a tunic. Or add sandals in warm weather and it's a flirty dress. When you need something that feels fun to wear and super soft, choose this cute, stylish top in a yummy yet subtle candy stripe.
