Do you ever stop and think about the amount of money you've spent on throw away juice pouches or juice boxes? When I was a little girl, I loved opening up my school lunch box to find a juice box or pouch- it was actually a special treat. It's no different 20+ years later with my own son. He doesn't take a lunch to school every day, but he does have the opportunity to stay for Lunch Bunch on Wednesdays, where he may bring his lunch to school, eat with his friends, and then have extra play time before pick up. His daddy and I promised him that he could stay for Lunch Bunch this year, so I'll be packing a school lunch for my child (for the first time) once a week.

In our family, we're really trying to focus more on wasting less. We recycle everything we can (so much that we actually need a second large recycling trash bin), and use reusable water bottles, etc. B is a big fan of juice boxes/pouches, but the cost adds up quickly, and then they just get tossed out- creating even more trash, since some of them can't be recycled.

We were recently introduced to Juice in the Box, which is an eco-friendly juice box! It's the ultimate travel drink box- perfect for on the go families, for use at home or school, etc. Disposable juice boxes just aren't good for our precious planet, and most of the time, the contents are less than desirable (sugary!). I am not a fan of not being able to see what my child is drinking, and have read way too may horror stories via social media, about moldy stuff growing inside of pouches. Yuck! I want to protect my child, protect the earth, and give my son healthy drink options. Juice in the Box is convenient, safe, reusable, and extremely durable, making it the perfect choice!

I was glad to see that the Juice in the Box packaging was pretty minimal. The box was tucked inside of a thick paper sleeve, which we were able to recycle. We're all for companies that put a lot of their focus into cutting down on waste, using recycled materials, and making it easy for consumers to follow suit, and recycle, as well.

B was so excited to try out his very own Juice in the Box, and loved that we received one in green (there are various color choices available).

The first thing that I did, was to take the Juice in the Box product apart, and check it out.

The product consists of the box, which holds the liquid, and the top, with built in straw. The lid fits easily onto the box, and stays in place, making the Juice in the Box spill-proof. The lid also contains a pinch guard, so little fingers won't get pinched, and a locking lid. Just push in, and release. The top part pops up, revealing the straw, ready to see some sipping action.

Our Experience...

Juice in the Box, the star of the show at dinner time!

We have been loving our Juice in the Box. Before the first use, I washed it with warm, soapy water. We first filled it with fresh orange juice for B to drink at breakfast. He thought it was so cool to be able to drink something from the fridge in his own special juice box. When he was finished with the juice, we just gave the Juice in the Box a quick hand wash, and then it was ready to go again. I filled it with fresh milk, and then placed the Juice in the Box in the fridge, so B could just go and grab it when he was ready for a milk break.

You decide what your child will drink!

We have been using Juice in the Box for all of our meal times and snack times at home, as well as on the go. Juice in the Box travels well in the car, so it's been coming along with us when we run errands. We're hitting the road for family vacation in a week, and we're definitely bringing our Juice in the Box along! I love that it's spill and leak-proof, easy to clean, and can be filled up with anything B wants to drink, within reason. I can clearly see what he's drinking, and we can make healthy choices, no matter where we are!

Our Juice in the Box has already taken a plunge to the floor from the table, and I am happy to report that it remained in tact. We experienced zero leaks or spills, no cracks to the juice box, and no tears! The Juice in the Box product is dishwasher safe, so you can wash it on the top rack. One of my favorite things about this product, though, is that B can't squeeze the box, which means that he can't squirt the contents of the box all over the car, the floor, etc! Way to go, Juice in the Box!

We love this reusable juice box so much, that we plan to purchase a couple more, in other colors. They will be perfect for us to use at home, and at school this year.
