Swaddle in Style : SwaddleDesigns Muslin Swaddle Blankets #Review + #Giveaway

As Baby S' arrival draw near, I am excited getting things in order for her. When you're expecting a baby, there are so many things on baby registry checklists that completing a registry or trying to let friends or family members know what you might need for baby, can seem overwhelming. From my previous experience with B, I know that there are some things I don't need, and won't use. Other items, though- are must-haves, and a few good swaddle blankets are among them.

SwaddleDesigns was founded by mom Lynette in 2002. Lynette is also an experienced nurse, and designer. When SwaddleDesigns came onto the scene, there were no long, square swaddle blankets on the market. SwadleDesigns combines Lynette's love of helping new parents calm and comfort their babies with a safe, reliable product, and providing the ultimate swaddle.

I haven't swaddled a baby in years, but I remember how calm B felt when he was a baby, and in a good swaddle. I was excited for the opportunity to connect with the team at SwaddleDesigns, and to try out a couple of their newest swaddle blanket designs.

The blankets I received were from the new black and white Muslin Swaddle collection.

My first impression of the Muslin Swaddles was how pretty they looked inside of their boxes. They were so beautifully packaged- just perfect for gifting! I almost didn't want to open them up, but I was excited to take them out and feel the fabric.

The gift box includes directions for a three step swaddle.

I remember becoming confused over how to swaddle a baby properly when we brought B home from the hospital. The nurses made it look so easy, but hardly gave us a chance to practice before we got home. I love the simple set by step guide that SwaddleDesigns includes on their packaging- a wonderful reminder to new moms and dads that they can do it!

I loved seeing the cute, smiling little panda faces on one of the SwaddleDesigns Muslin Swaddles.

The second design was a beautiful grey print, against the white background.

The muslin fabric is just so soft and comforting. My mom is a quilter, and she uses muslin all the time as a backing fabric, because it's soft. This is the type of fabric that is soft and gentle on the skin- perfect for new babies. B spent a lot of time in just a diaper, and swaddled in a blanket after we brought him home from the hospital. He slept so well, just swaddled and laid in his bassinet, or cuddled in our arms. These muslin swaddlers, however, are so much softer than any of the blankets we had available for B. I am so excited that S will be able to be all snug and wrapped up in these buttery soft muslin blankets.

I love this gorgeous print!

We are using a pink and grey theme in S' nursery, so this pretty print will fit right in. It looks so beautiful, and is perfect for a little girl's first few days and weeks outside of the womb. I can't wait to see my little princess all wrapped up in this soft blanket.

The cute panda print is so adorable!

Perfect for boys or girls- the black and white panda bear print is so cute! This will fit right in with our theme, and as S grows, I know she'll love seeing these happy little panda faces smiling at her. The blankets are so soft that I had a hard time putting them away- I almost wanted to just take a nap with them (which I might do, so my scent transfers to the blankets).

Both of these Swaddles from SwaddleDesigns will be packed into my hospital bag in a few weeks. I am already putting the essentials in there, and these will go right along with the other essentials for baby. I didn't care for the swaddle blankets that they use at the hospital- they were very stiff and scratchy. I know that my baby will safe, warm, and all wrapped up in love in these muslin swaddle blankets.

I am excited that the Muslin Swaddle Blankets have more than just one use. I can use them as throws to cover up when nursing, they can be used as a stroller blanket, a window shade, or just a soft cuddle blanket as baby grows. I wish I'd had these when B was a baby, but I am so glad that I have the opportunity to use and enjoy them with S. I look forward to swaddling, comforting and snuggling her in these beautiful muslin blankets from SwaddleDesigns.
