This is such an important product to have in your home! Everyone has smoke detectors and everyone should have carbon monoxide detectors. I especially like this one from First Alert because it will last for 10 years with no need to replace a battery. The battery will last the life of the alarm. It will give me an alarm when it's time to replace the alarm..which is a good thing because in 10 years I'm sure I will not remember that! It is very easy to set up. The directions are very clear and easy to understand. You can display this alarm right on your dresser or a shelf. It shows the temperature but will alert you if there are levels of carbon monoxide present in your home. Carbon monoxide poisoning is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America and you won't know that you have carbon monoxide poisoning until it is too late. Please, please check out this product and make your home as safe as possible. I feel so much better having this in my house and I will replace every 10 years. My home will not be without a carbon monoxide detector.
The alarm I received with lots of information on the front of the package.

Some information from First Alert....
10-YEAR SEALED MULTI-FUNCTION CARBON MONOXIDE ALARM
The First Alert CO710 carbon monoxide detector is powerful, stylish and versatile. Designed to sit attractively on a tabletop or dresser, this unit can display ambient temperature on an everyday basis but will also alarm and display CO if it detects carbon monoxide in the home. The CO710 uses an electrochemical carbon monoxide sensor - the most accurate technology available. It emits a loud, 85dB alarm if carbon monoxide levels are detected at dangerous levels. The convenient peak function captures and allows you to retrieve the highest CO level recorded in your home.
This versatile detector includes a long life sealed lithium battery to power the alarm for a full 10 years without replacing the battery. This eliminates costly battery replacements and annoying low battery chirps in the middle of the night. An end-of-life alarm signals when it's time to replace the unit in 10 years.
Carbon monoxide (CO) is the leading cause of accidental poisoning deaths in America, yet many people don't know they are suffering from CO poisoning until its too late. Since symptoms of CO poisoning are like the flu, you might not even know you're in danger at first. That's why a carbon monoxide alarm is an excellent way to protect your family. It can detect the CO you can't see, smell or taste in the air.
- Multi-function, backlitdigital display - view CO levels or ambient room temperature
- Peak level feature retrieves the highest concentration of carbon monoxide measured
- Powered by sealed, ten year lithium batteries to provide continuous protection for ten years without battery replacement
- Modern, compact design allows easy tabletop or wall mount placement
