There are so many joys that come along with motherhood, and to me, breastfeeding is one of them. Sure, it can be tricky at first, time consuming, and even frustrating at times, but I wouldn't trade those hours of nursing my babies for anything. I developed an incredible bond with my son through our time spent breastfeeding, and I am now able to do the same with my six-week-old daughter.

Breastfeeding comes with its own set of challenges. When I finally realized that I was going to have some wardrobe issues, due to nursing Baby S, I was sort of at a loss. I didn't want to have to go out and spend a lot of money on new tops to wear while nursing over the next year or so. Nursing apparel tends to be very expensive, and for a family on a tight budget, I had to look into alternatives to make a nursing wardrobe work.

I was excited to learn about Undercover Mama, which offers nursing tank tops that are truly one of a kind. Undercover Mama tanks are mom-invented and approved. They are handy tank tops that are comfortable, slimming, and super functional for nursing mamas.

I couldn't wait to try out one of the Undercover Mama Nursing Tanks. I never go without a tank or camisole underneath my shirts. Most shirts are so thin these days, that you really need an undershirt. Nursing can be sort of tricky. I found that I was fighting with my tanks and my baby to get everything situated, and get the both of us comfortable for a nursing session. My tanks were being stretched out by pulling them down under the breast during nursing. I'd like to be able to wear those for a long time, so that wasn't quite working out for me. 

The Undercover Mama Tank is strapless, and hooks to your nursing bra.

The idea behind the Undercover Mama Tank is pretty genius. It's a basic solid colored tank (they are available in tons of different colors), and has a hook and loop to easily attach it to any nursing bra. It even works with a regular bra if you find that nursing doesn't work for you, or you want to wear it after you are no longer nursing. To use the tank, simply pull it on over your bra, and attach the hooks or the loop to the nursing bra. Once you have the tank in place, finish getting dressed and go about your day. I find that it works great underneath a regular shirt, or as a tank to wear with a cardigan or kimono- perfect for late spring and summer looks!

I found that I prefer to use the hook to attach the tank to my bra. To me, it feels more secure, though it does take an extra minute to unhook before we begin a nursing session. It's very discreet, and no one will be able to tell the difference between this awesome nursing tank and a regular old tank top.

I ordered this tank in plain white, and in a size Medium. Pre-pregnancy, I wore a small, and was between a size 2/4. I gained a lot of weight with Baby S, and still have about 25 pounds to lose to get back to my pre-baby weight. I found that the Medium is a nice fit for my larger than life chest, and my new shape.The slimming tank is great, and makes me look and feel better about myself these trying weeks after baby. I am 6 weeks post-op from my c-section, and haven't been feeling too great about the way I look, so this tank is really a confidence booster for me.

I wish I had one of these tanks in every color! I love my tank so much, and hope to get one or two more in bright colors for summertime. I love the polka dot design, as well- so cute! I wish that I'd had a tank like this when I breastfed my son all those years go- it would have made breastfeeding at home and in public so much easier! If you're a breastfeeding mama, this tank is a must-have for your nursing wardrobe! It would make a great gift for a new mom, too!
