I'm so excited to let you know about a company I had never heard of.  I am so excited to learn about Trades of Hope and see all the beautiful items they have.  When I received my package from Trades of Hope, I was blown away by what was inside!!  I opened the box to find a beautiful bracelet and journal.  When I say I was blown away, I'm serious.  These items are gorgeous!  I love the handmade Restoration bracelet and can't wait to wear it this fall and winter.  It will go with so many different outfits.  It is a beautiful color of blue! It is from Haiti and is made with paper and clay beads in varying shapes.  And the journal, I don't think I can write in it! This Paisley journal comes from India and gives the artisans that make them the opportunity to work from home and spend more time with their family instead of having to work in sweatshops where they work very long hours for very little pay.   It is absolutely beautiful and has the most delicate, hand-stitched cover with ancient script writing.  The inside pages are also delicate and have pressed marigold petals on them.  You definitely have to hold this in your hands and feel it's beauty!  The best thing about Trades of Hope is that they are helping women in poverty overcome that and change their life.  Please read more below about how Trades of Hope are changing the world.

So many women live in poverty, not because they lack abilities, but because they lack opportunity. We started Trades of Hope to give women that opportunity for a better life. Each woman has a story, and with Trades of Hope's help, their story has changed from pain and struggle to a story of hope! 

We work with the artisans themselves and organizations that are helping women in difficult circumstances. Some women have been rescued from sex slavery. Others are raising handicapped children alone. Some are in war torn countries and others have HIV/AIDS and leprosy. These women have never had the chances we've had, yet they are just like us in so many ways. They love their families and hope and dream of a better life for them. 

We are helping by marketing their products through the home party model, so they can put food on their table, a roof over their head, get medical care and an education for their children. We want to tell their stories to the world! We have a heart for ministry and business, and through this we have started separate successful non-profit organizations and businesses. Together, we have a combined 30 years of experience. This has given us the tools and drive we need to help women and make an impact on the world! As moms, we also wanted to partner with our daughters, Chelsie and Elisabeth, and teach them that women at any age can make a difference and be world changers!
