My church family went on church wide retreat in the NC mountains.  My mom joined Aiden and I for the weekend and we all had a great time! It's always so refreshing to get away to the mountains and revive your soul.  There were many fun activities throughout the weekend but one of my favorite was tying blankets for those in need.  These blankets will be shared right here in my hometown.  Many friends came out and spent a couple hours tying and having wonderful fellowship.  New friendships were formed and fun was had by all that helped.  Some of the blankets were being delivered that next day to The Lily Pad Haven.  Lily Pad Haven are safe houses for people that have rescued from human trafficking.  A house just recently opened here in Salisbury and the first family was moving in that next day and they would have beautiful blankets to wrap up in and feel God's love and warmth.  Check out Lily Pad Haven here.  The other blankets were going to Rowan Helping Ministries, which is our local shelter and food bank.  I'm so glad that my mom, Aiden and I could help with this wonderful community outreach project!
