When my sister and I were little, I remember really wanting an Easy Bake Oven for Christmas. I was so excited when I actually got one! My sister wasn't really into baking at that time, but she loved bugs and other creepy things. My parents got her a Creepy Crawler Machine, which made wiggly worms and other types of insects out of this gel that you baked in an oven, and then it solidified. We thought that machine was pretty cool, and loved designing our own creepy things to play with.

Fast forward to 25 years later (showing my age, here), and kids are being delighted all over again with the opportunity to make frightfully creepy things.

Imagine my surprise when we were given the opportunity to check out The Fright Factory from Tech 4 Kids. We were sent a Fright Factory set, and a couple of add ons. I was just tickled by how similar this was to the Creepy Crawlers we loved so many years ago. The Fright Factory allows your kids to make their own gross blobs, and creepy bugs.

It's so easy to use and fun to make these creepy creations. What I love about this is that it's safe for kids. There's nothing to plug in, and there's no heat used in creating the creepies. The creation station is battery operated, and uses a UV light, rather than heat to solidify the gel molds.

I know that we're going to have so much fun making all sorts of creepy creations with the Fright Factory. B is all boy, and love creepy things. I have a feeling that we'll be scheduling some play dates so he and his friends can create lots of wiggly, creepy bugs to take home to their parents!

This is a safe and fun gift idea for ages 8+. B is 6, but I think that with supervision, he'll be just fine playing with the Fright Factory. If you're looking for a unique gift, this is definitely it!
