Meet the Stars at The Hollywood Wax Museum, Myrtle Beach

Thank you to Hollywood Wax and Entertainment Center Myrtle Beach for providing me with complimentary admission in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

Our family loves to visit Myrtle Beach, SC. We go every year after Christmas, and it's so nice to be there during the off season when it's far less crowded. Since it's too cold to hit the beach that time of the year, we always look for other fun things to do. We love to head down toward Broadway at the Beach, and right across the street is the Hollywood Wax Museum and Entertainment Center. This place is a 3-in-1 fun zone for families!

The Hollywood Wax Museum is a landmark in Myrtle Beach and a highlight of Broadway at the Beach. At the intersection of Highway 17 Bypass and 21st Avenue in Myrtle Beach, Hollywood Wax Museum is the only wax museum in the country devoted entirely to celebrity figures. The two-story Museum will bring Myrtle Beach tourists and locals into the world of Hollywood Stars and allow visitors to get close to some of the most famous people in show business, recreated so faithfully that you'd swear they were alive. Hollywood Wax Museum houses tons of uncanny replicas, lending themselves to fun photo opportunities for guests. If you're waxing for fun things to do in Myrtle Beach, SC this summer or if you're visiting the beautiful Grand Stand any time of year, the Hollywood Wax Museum is a must-see.

We were excited to tour the museum and 'meet' some of our favorite stars!

B with Robert Downey, Jr. He was so excited to meet Tony Stark!

Another favorite- Captain Jack Sparrow!

Daddy's favorite guy- Indiana Jones!

A lot of the scenes had props, so you were encouraged to use them, dress up, and take as many photos as you like with the wax figures. B really thought this was fun. He loves dressing up anyway, and was excited to play and act out some scenes with favorite characters and stars. Dressing up like pirates was a lot of fun! There were a lot of stars he didn't recognize, but the grown-ups knew all of the stars, and we had a lot of fun just looking at their likenesses.

Breakfast at Tiffany's with Audrey Hepburn.

My dad with Lucille Ball (though he did see Lucille Ball in real life when he was growing up in California!)

Me giving Martha Stewart a run for her money... it's a good thing.

No worries, Martha- you can keep your day job.

I enjoyed walking through and reading about so may awesome leading ladies. I loved the Lucy and Martha Stewart sets. Sometimes I just have way too much fun! From the lovely ladies, we went to the monsters sets, which had chracters from Alien, Frankenstien, Scream, and many others. Some were a little creepy for B, and he hurried right past them. Baby S was interested in everything she saw.

Alien... so scary!

Meeting Count Dracula.

Jennifer Aniston's closet.

Look who I found in the wedding chapel! They even had wedding dresses you could slip on and take pictures in!

A fun laser maze room! Only a ninja can make it through! PS- I made it through on the easy level!

We made it out of the room of lasers, which was so much fun! I couldn't convince B to go in and give it a try, but all of the adults took a turn. There were different difficulty levels that you could set it to if you wanted a true challenge. The goal is to make it through the maze without going through a laser beam. We stepped over and crawled under tons of green lasers to get to the other side!

After the laser challenge, we made our way down to the hall of music, and were met by tons of figures of famous musicians. I thought the figure of Lady Gaga was pretty close! I also loved the figures of Dolly Parton and Michael Jackson- they were spot on!

Gaga.

Madge

Complete the picture spinning game.

I finally got my Oscar! Thank you, thank you!

B, dancing with Charlie!

Dad & Dolly

Cheers!

Hangin' with my favorite vampires in Forks.

Coffee and cannoli with Owen Wilson- even though he's not my favorite Wilson brother.

 Pink and Katy Perry

You exit the museum through the gift shop, of course. There were mostly cute little things to pick up and take home, and most everything was fairly priced.

The Hollywood Wax and Entertainment Center also houses a Zombie Outbreak walk through, as well as Hannah's Maze of Mirrors. A full pass to the entertainment center gets you into all three! I was not interested in the Zombie Outbreak, and it was way too scary for B, so we did not go through that one. We did go through the Maze of Mirrors, which I'll share about in my next post.

Gift shop, filled with fun souvenirs!

We had such a fun time going through the Hollywood Wax Museum and playing around in all of the fun sets. This is as close as we'll ever get to meeting the stars, so it was truly enjoyable. It's a fun way to spend a few hours at the beach. We spent about two hours going through the Wax Museum, and about 30 minutes in the mirror maze. It's the perfect way to spend a rainy day, or to enjoy a hot afternoon!
