Be a pineapple. Stand tall, wear a crown, and be sweet on the inside. Have you heard that saying before? It's my official saying for summer 2017- the season of the pineapple. I love pineapple, and I could eat it all day long- if it didn't make my tongue feel so funny, that is. Jokes aside, pineapples are so beautiful to look at. They're exotic, prickly on the outside, but bright, sunny, and super sweet on the inside. I found a pair of pineapple dresses that were perfect for Baby S and I to twin in this summer, and they are cute as can be!

Some of my favorite looks for summer are from Shrimp & Grits Kids. Shrimp & Grits Kids came about when Mom and Founder, Megan had her first baby and desperately wanted to dress her in adorable smocked boutique outfits. The prices of the high-end clothing deterred Megan, so she tried her hand at smocking, and dress making, realizing all too soon what a time consuming and expensive hobby it was going to be. Megan was determined to offer moms affordable smocked clothing for their littles with all of that sweet southern charm incorporated into each and every piece, without sacrificing style or quality.

Shrimp & Grits Kids designs are anything but ordinary. They are so adorable! Their pieces are primarily sold through trunk shows and boutiques in the south. I haven't really gotten much into the 'twinning' thing with Baby S, until I saw the Pineapple Collection from Shrimp & Grits Kids. This is a sweet, summery collection of mix and match pieces and dresses, perfect for baby, for boys & girls, and even for mom! Pineapples are a symbol of the south- especially down in and around Charleston, SC. Baby S is a southern little lady, and her mom has lived in the south long enough to be considered a southerner, as well. I love smocking for little ones, and fell in love with the Pineapple Bishop from Shrimp & Grits Kids.

The Pineapple Bishop is so beautifully made. It features an adorable gingham fabric, with pineapple smocking along the collar, and detailed cuffed sleeves. The dress fit Baby S so beautifully. We went with the 12 mo size for her, and she still has some room to grow into it. I think she felt as beautiful as she looked in it. She wasn't used to wearing a dress so long, so she did have some issues trying to stand up in it, after catching the bottom of the dress under her shoes. Bottom line- she looked adorable, and I can't wait to dress her in the pineapple dress again!

Mom on the move in the Ladies Pineapple Shift Dress from Shrimp & Grits Kids

As if the Pineapple Bishop wasn't sweet enough, the Ladies Pineapple Shift Dress is sweet as can be for summertime! I love the fabric/print of this dress, and the overall design. It's a simple style- perfect for sunny strolls along the beach, brunch with the family, date night, or to wear to church. What I love even more about this dress, is that it works well with my mom life. Meaning- I don't have to worry about showing everyone my fanny when I bend over to pick a child up. The length is appropriate, and the v-neck is, too. Nothing too flashy- this is a classy cut, plain and simple. The 3/4 length sleeves are great because I tend to get chilly when in air conditioned rooms. I did wear a slip underneath this dress, just to prevent anyone from being able to see through the fabric... you never know.

Baby S and I felt so pretty in our Pineapple dresses from Shrimp & Grits Kids! If B were younger, I would definitely be dressing him to match us, as well!
