After a fun-filled summer, our family is settling back into a normal routine and gearing up for the new school year. We still have some day trips planned on more of a local level, and I am semi-glad to have the opportunity to explore around our own county and state once again. Our summer travels have taken us to the beach, to Disney World, various locations in and around Orlando, to the NC mountains, and beyond. When we travel, we usually plan a lot of day trips or outings and stay very active. While in Orlando, we walked over 30,000 steps between two days of fun in the sun. It's amazing to have opportunities to be active with my family, but if I don't have the proper shoes on, that can quickly put a damper on the fun.

This summer, I've been able to comfortably keep up with my family, thanks to VIONIC. I am notorious for wearing improper shoes when we're on family outings. Having a supportive pair of sneakers that are comfortable to wear for various activities is a must for me. As an active mom, I never know where my day will take me. I have two kids, ages 6, and 16-months. Both kids love to play, go for walks, kick balls around, and go on adventures like taking trips to the park, zoo, amusement parks or whathaveyou. I have to be able to keep up with them. I might be carrying the little one, along with a day pack, and a purse slung over a shoulder. We recently took a day trip driving along the Blue Ridge Parkway in the gorgeous NC mountains. We planned to take the parkway to Asheville, where we would stop for lunch. As we drove, we noticed a 'new to us' overlook, crowded with cars. We wanted to see what all the excitement was about, so we pulled over, and noticed several trailheads, some leading to waterfalls. One of the trails was fairly short, and lead to a waterfall nearby. We decided to go for it, and all put on our sneakers for a short hike. We had some climbing to do to get to the upper falls, and my knee never once felt like it was aching.
