So I know that we are only just entering into December and we have all of the Christmas festivities to enjoy, however, sometimes you can’t help but think of the new year ahead and what you might have planned for it. Sure you may have a vacation booked, perhaps other things to look forward to, but what about yourself? As moms, we spend so much time focusing on the other people in our lives and while we love it, we can all be allowed a little thought time to consider what changes we want to make for ourselves. I’m not talking about the crazy diet to lose the holiday weight, or the sudden urge to join the gym. I’m talking about real beneficial changes to your life and mental state. Here are some of the personal resolutions you could consider to make 2018 your best year yet.
Changing the way you think
The way we think really governs how we feel, how we act, and how we change our lives. So it shouldn’t surprise you that changing the way you think to a more positive outlook can have a dramatic effect on how you live your life. From the mundane routine to the fun stuff, a positive outlook can be a real game changer. Another thing to consider would be to practice gratitude. That way you become thankful for everything that is going great in your life that you spare little thoughts to the not so good things. There are some great tips online to help you change your thought process, and at first it may seem like you are always consciously doing it. But like anything, habits are formed and you start to do it naturally.
Making changes physically to improve your life
Maybe you want to make some physical changes, and there is nothing wrong with that. It might be to get healthier, have a better diet or change your eating habits to become vegan or vegetarian. It might be to focus on something you struggle with like your eyesight, and having laser eye surgery to correct it. If you look online you are sure to find an Optometrist nearby. Or maybe you want to focus on other aspects of your like changing your hair, getting your teeth whitened or straightened, or even having confidence-boosting treatments. Whatever you decide to do, make sure you do it for yourself.
Exercising more
Exercise is a big one for January, but with all the pressure means that many people abandon their fitness goals a few weeks into the year. Instead, why not try and ease your way into exercising more. Avoid joining a gym if you feel it won’t help, instead, just get outside and walk more often. Exercise at home or follow YouTube videos online. It doesn’t have to be an all or nothing approach.
Setting some realistic goals
Finally, make sure you set realistic goals for the new year. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself to do things you know you can’t commit to. Instead, really focus on what you want to achieve and then plan how you are going to achieve it. This might be personally, physically or in the workplace.
