I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas. My family sure did. We had wonderful time with our family and of course, had some amazing food! The week before Christmas break, one of the other classes made some yummy Peppermint Bark. It seemed so easy, I decided to give it a try to take to our family get together. It was super easy and super delicious!
This yummy candy is made with 2 ingredients...peppermint candy and vanilla almond bark. Easy!
The needed ingredients
After opening the peppermints, I put them inside a big Ziploc bag and sealed it. I found out really fast that I needed to double bag the peppermints during the hammering part to break them up. So, I put the first bag inside a second Ziploc bag and sealed it, too.
Ready to hammer some peppermints.
Peppermint pieces
Almond Bark ready to be melted and peppermint pieces.
Line a cookie sheet with wax paper.
This part was the most difficult part. Melting the almond bark. I heated it in a glass bowl for 1 minute and 30 seconds to begin with. Stir it really well and make sure to get the very bottom stirred up. I put it back in for 10 second increments and stirred very good after each time until melted.
Melted and ready.
I poured the melted almond bark into a bowl with the peppermint pieces so that it would be easier to mix together.
All mixed together.
After it is all mixed together, spread evenly on your cookie sheet with waxed paper. Let it cool for about an hour.
Cooling and yummy!
When it is good and cooled, pull the wax paper up and break into pieces.
Ready to eat!
This was so easy to make that I did 3 batches of it. I took it to all of our Christmas gatherings and gave some to friends. It will definitely be a yearly treat at our house!
Enjoy!
That looks good and can't get any easier! We had a very busy but Merry Christmas too. I am doing the bare minimum today.
