I've always been a huge fan of "snail mail". As a child, I remember carefully crafting letters and greeting cards for loved ones using colorful pens and stickers and often times drawing pictures and practicing my bubble-letter skills too. For many of us, the art of communication, be it written or spoken, is the cornerstone to the most important relationships in our lives. The Talkie allows us to share with our children, just how special it can be to stay in touch with those we love.

When I was first introduced to the "talkie", I immediately became excited and intrigued to learn about a toy that can be used by my children, through me and my parental control of an app, to stay in touch with friends and family that live hundreds of miles away.

I have two little boys (if you're a regular reader, you've seen them quite a few times) and they are so blessed to have many amazing cousins! They love their cousins and wish they could see them more often. You see, we live in North Carolina and all of their cousins live in Maryland. However, for the distance, we sure do make it work. Everyone puts in effort to travel and we visit as often as we can to keep these little relationships as vibrant and close as possible. 

Gory is our new talkie shark that is going to help my little guys stay in touch with some of their very best friends who just happen to live over 6 hours away! Gory is a stuffed shark with a special device inside that is able to be synced to MY phone and through a FREE app, I am able to monitor messages that my sons can record and send! As you can see, Talkies are the perfect way for kids to stay in touch with their friends and family! What I love is how user-friendly these little guys are as well as the app that goes along with it. I like how the app notifies me when a new message is received.


Grandmom wants to send a special "Goodnight" message and all she needs is her phone with the app installed! In seconds, her message is delivered and a special little child gets to hear the message, straight from the mouth of their stuffed talkie friend.
