Sticky Teriyaki Honey Chicken #Recipe

One of our favorite types of food to prepare at home is Asian-inspired. It's honestly something that my husband and I could be totally happy with eating every day. Our kids love sushi rice, and broccoli is a favorite family veggie. Add in some sweet and sticky chicken, and you've got yourself one heck of a tasty meal that works perfectly for dinner or for lunches.

The ingredient that is the true star of this simple recipe is the honey, so make sure you use a good brand, or even local honey. Did you know that consuming local honey can help ward off seasonal allergies? My hubby and kids take a teaspoon of local honey once a week and it helps them during high bloom times for grass, leaves, flowers, etc.

My choice of honey for this and every recipe that calls for the sweet stuff is Aunt Sue's Raw & Unfiltered Wildflower Honey. It's the best honey I've ever tasted!

Ingredients

You'll need a few simple ingredients for this recipe & I'll even venture to bet that you have most of these on hand in your pantry and fridge.

You Will Need:

2 Boneless, Skinless Chicken Breasts, cut into bite-size pieces
1 Tbsp Oil (Canola Oil)
2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
1/3 Cup Teriyaki Sauce or Marinade
1/2 Cup of Honey
2 Tbsp Soy Sauce

Let's Get Cooking...

Add the chicken pieces to a medium size bowl and pour over the Soy Sauce, Teriyaki Marinade, and Honey. Stir. Add the garlic & then add a pinch of sea salt and black pepper. If you want to kick up the heat, 1 Tsp. of red pepper flakes.

As the chicken marinates, add oil to a skillet and heat to a medium-high temperature. Add the chicken and cook for about 10 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through. There will still be a good amount of liquid in the pan.

Reduce the heat and stir until the liquid reduces and forms a thick sauce.
The chicken should be coated in a sweet, sticky sauce.

Serve It Up...

Serve the chicken over sushi rice and alongside fresh steamed veggies of your choice. We almost always choose broccoli. I like to make rice bowls with any leftovers we wind up with- they're perfect for lunch and pack well in a lunch box.
