Is there a car lover in your life? I have a couple in mine, and when holidays roll around, they always comment about wanting things for their vehicles when asked for gift suggestions. I usually shy away from gifting major auto-related items, because I feel like I never know if it'll work the right way with their particular car's make/model. Over the years, my husband has shown me that it's not all that difficult to select thoughtful and useful car-related gifts, and I've realized that he's absolutely right. You just have to pay closer attention to the things that are wanted or needed.
Valentine's Day is a great time to show someone how much you care by gifting them something they'll really use and appreciate. My husband, grandfather-in-law, and even my brother-in-law love to receive gifts for their cars. None of them have the same types of cars- they have sporty sedans, SUVs, and even a JEEP. All very different, though they do tend to like the same types of useful gifts for their vehicles.
If you're stuck on what to get the auto-lover in your life this Valentine's Day, here are a few great ideas...
Gift Baskets
Everyone needs supplies to keep their cars clean. It's just a fact of life. The more we take care of our vehicles, the longer they last, and the better looking they'll be for the long haul. Put together a simple gift basket with all sorts of items that can be used to keep the vehicle clean. Think products like wash and wax, and don't forget to include gloves, sponges, and microfiber towels for polishing, drying, etc. You could even throw in some wheel shine, and air freshener!
Accessories
Car accessories are sort of an acquired taste- you either like them or you don't. For many auto-lovers, however, they're totally into products that'll make it easier for them as they spend time in their beloved cars. Gifts like cell phone chargers, personalized floor mats, Personalised Number Plates, mud flaps, trash holders, or backseat organizers are great gift ideas! Don't forget about protective items like car covers, which are especially helpful when the car must remain parked outdoors.
Pet Helpers
Does your auto-lover have a pet that also rides along in their car? It can be hard to keep cars free and clear of pet hair or other messes that might inadvertently be made by furry friends. A seat cover is a great way to make sure that pet hair doesn't transfer to the seats of the car, or that the pet doesn't ruin the upholstery. Accidents can and will happen, so safety products for pets as they ride in the car are also a great idea!
Gas Cards
You might think this is a pretty boring gift, but everyone can use and appreciate a gas card. Just make sure to take notice if they prefer a specific brand of gas, and put enough money on the card to fill their tank at least a couple of times. Helping them get where they need to go without having to spend a ton of money will surely be much appreciated!
Car Wash Gift Cards
Here's another easy idea- give a gift card to a local car wash. With spring on the horizon, most drivers will want to have their vehicles cleaned and spruced up for all of that glorious springtime driving they'll plan on doing. Make it easier on them and give them the option to let someone wash and detail their car for a change- that is, if they trust anyone else to touch their car.
