Easter is just a few days away! Over the last few weeks I've been setting aside small gifts to include in the girls' baskets, but now it's crunch time and that means I have to shift my focus to some treats.

As much as we all love chocolate at our house, Easter candy rarely gets finished. I'm not sure if it's because the girls end up getting so much of it (seriously, it seems like EVERYONE we know gives them some), but more often than not we end up with so much candy that some ends up getting thrown away a few months down the road. I don't like being wasteful, which is why my focus is usually on smaller gifts, but there is something to be said about traditions.
Starting a Slightly New Tradition!
This year, the girls are in for a special treat with Donsuemor Madeleines. We are including a few of the traditional and lemon flavored madeleines in their baskets. I think this is going to be our family's traditional Easter treat, rather than chocolate bunnies and jelly beans. Plus, I'm feeling pretty confident that the only part of these treats we'll be throwing away is the wrapper!
Saving Some for Dessert!
Because Donsuemor was so generous in what they sent for this review, we'll have a "few" madeleines left over. I was initially planning on using some to create an Easter dessert, but these elegant little cakes are just so good as they are, that I still cannot decide whether or not I should bother. One part of me is asking "why mess with a good thing?" and the other part is asking "did you even SEE the amazing recipes on their website?".

No matter what, we'll still be enjoying them for dessert after Easter dinner at my Grams'. Madeleines with Grandma Madeline, she's going to LOVE that!

I love Madeleines and the fact that these are indiviualy wrapped would work well since I only like sweets once in a while. They would stay fresh longer.
ReplyDeleteThese were so good. I appreciate that they are individually wrapped as well, it prevented me from eating too many in one sitting (they were THAT good!).
