Mooove Over Irritated Skin! Moo Goo + Giveaway

I'm always on the hunt for companies that go the extra mile to create products that are not only effective, but that are good for you too. When it comes to skincare, I feel like I've tried so many things for myself and my kids. We all have very sensitive skin and it seems like even the gentlest products can cause problems.

I contacted Moo Goo - a company that has designed all of their products around "udder cream"- a product that was used to protect cows udders and keep them in good condition for milking. Udder cream that is used for cows is very greasy, so Moo Goo designed their first cream as a non-greasy version of udder cream that was formulated for humans. Since that first product, they have expanded to make a whole range of products that hemp the skin and scalp "without gimmicks or cheap ingredients."

Such a smart concept! I love the idea of taking something that works and is tried and true and finding other uses for it - like udder cream for people! Karen with Moo Goo sent me a wonderful kit to try out that is curated for the needs of little ones.

The kit is called the "Baby Travel Kit" as it features generous travel sizes of some of their most helpful products. The kit includes a Mini Moo Bubbly Wash, Soothing MSM Cream, Nappy Balm and a small tube of Mudder Udder Balm (for nursing Moms).

The products are so thoughtfully designed. The Mini Moo Bubbly Wash is a baby cleanser that is free from SLS (Sodium Laureth Sulphate), which is a petroleum based detergent that can irritate and dry out skin. It is formulated with natural Glucose and Coconut based cleaners that still give babies the bubbles that they need, without the harsh affects! Smart.

The Nappy Balm is an effective natural barrier cream for diaper rash. It is made of edible oils, so you don't have to worry if baby eats some by accident! I am personally relieved by this as my middle child attempts to eat everything.

The Soothing MSM Cream is a rich body cream that contains MSM, or organic sulfur, which is a natural skin-soothing compound. It is a fantastic choice for babies (or adults) who have irritable skin and are sensitive to most products. It is made with Sweet Almond Oil and raw Coconut Oil which are some of the best oils to calm and nourish skin.

The Mudder Udder Balm is, as you can probably infer, a nipple balm for nursing mothers. I'm not nursing right now so I didn't get to try out the full effect but the product contains all edible oils and butters so it does not have to be removed before breastfeeding. Nice.

Karen also generously sent me Moo Goo's Irritable Skin Balm to try out with my littlest one Sam. He has eczema so bad during this dry weather and has already been prescribed an anti-inflammatory ointment from his doctor. Moo Goo's Irritable Skin Balm is designed to support traditional treatments for eczema - which was nice to hear. It contains natural ingredients that help to calm the inflamed skin, so it is a great choice to add to the routine of taming eczema, one of the most difficult skin conditions to get under control with little ones. It is not a moisturizer, but more of a treatment type product, so Moo Goo recommends combining the Irritable Skin Balm with the Soothing MSM Cream and any prescribed treatments. I love that Moo Goo has taken the initiative to create products to support our efforts to care for our babies.

I just have to say, I am so impressed with Moo Goo's product line. All of their products have been formulated with such purpose. And they are using the most effective natural ingredients available. I am hoping to be able to work with them again to try out some of their adult skincare line in the future. I have loved using their natural products with my children and will definitely keep them on hand for all of the baby skincare needs that come up!
