A typical day in the life of my kids, ages two and seven usually includes hearing classical music. Being children and grandchildren of a long line of musicians, my kids have an honest love for all types of music. Since their dad is a classical bass trombonist, playing with local symphony orchestras on a regular basis, and their Poppa Rob is a highly regarded organist, pianist, and choral director, music is in their blood. Their mother is even a pretty good vocalist (toot, toot!), and grew up playing 'name that classical composer' with her dad.

Not a day goes by in our house or in the car, where we're not listening to music. My son even has his own picks of favorite symphonies, specifying favorite movements. We introduced both of our kids to classical music when they were in the womb, noting all of the developmental benefits for babies brains. Today, the kids enjoy classical music on a regular basis and have just made friends with an adorable plush bear who keeps classical music on their minds and in their ears at the push of a button.

Ludwig the Bear, by Virtuoso Bears

Meet Ludwig (van Beethoven) the Bear! Ludwig joined our family a few weeks ago and has been gracing us with soft cuddles and greatest classical music hits ever since. My seven-year-old has a fondness of Bethoveen and many other classical composers. Ludwig the bear fits right in at our house! S grew immediately attached to Ludwig. She quickly recognized that familiar Ode to Joy and smiled as it played. S loves to bring Ludwig along for all of our daily adventures. She asks to bring him on rides to school, trips to the grocery store, and of course, to grandma's house! It's a good thing that grandma is also a lover of classical music!

Each piece of music by Beethoven featured on the music player for Ludwig, is a snippet of a masterpiece! The music player plays 40 minutes of music, and can easily be turned on/off with the switch of a button. These musical recordings are high-quality and so lovely to listen to. You won't cringe (as is often the case with other musical toys) when you hear the clear sound quality, doing these beautiful pieces of music justice.

Big Bro (B) also fell in love with Ludwig right away!

B couldn't wait to listen to some of Beethoven's classics while conducting along with his dad's baton. B has also grown very attached to Ludwig and loves to cuddle with him after school and at bedtime. I couldn't be happier that my kids love classical music, and want to learn how to play instruments. Our adorable new friend Ludwig is just furthering that love for all things classical. B has even asked when he and Ludwig can attend one of my husband's symphony concerts. I can't wait to snap a picture of B and his Ludwig bear at the symphony!
