Another 4th of July is here, and boy, am I happy for a day 'off.' We've been busy little bees lately, and mama bee is wearing down fast! We're gearing up for a family beach vacay at the end of this week, which means I have little time left to pack. Yikes! The 4th is usually a fun and festive time for all, but the past few years, we've had rather unpleasant things arise on the 4th.
This year, I'm just hoping for an uneventful 4th of July.
A Low-Key Family Celebration
My favorite way to spend the 4th of July is to chill with family. I'm not super keen on fighting crowds, being stuck in traffic or dealing with extreme heat. We already had a family picnic at Triad Park on the 1st, as we came together to hear hubby with the Piedmont Wind Symphony. They presented a fun pops concert, and despite the heat, we had an enjoyable time.
Even though we don't have big plans today, we're still looking forward to enjoying the 4th with festive food, 4th of July outfits, and some fun activities. Sparklers, anyone? If you're looking for a few fun activities for food ideas that you still have time to pull off today, check out this awesome list of Fun 4th of July Recipes & Activities!
