3 Kid-Friendly Halloween Treats Featuring the Halloween Tackle Box from Dylan's Candy Bar + #Giveaway

Who loves Halloween? I have always been a fan of the holiday, and come to think of it, I really just love the entire month of October. There are tons of reasons for me to love this month. There are a ton of October birthdays in my family, including my son, who will turn eight in just a couple of days. I know, I don't look old enough to have an eight-year-old. You were thinking that, right? Thanks! Back to the story, October is about much more than spooky costumes and parties, it holds so many amazing memories for me, and the best ones combine creativity, Halloween candy, and loved ones!

Memories, new and old

When I was a little girl growing up in NJ, I loved celebrating my grandmother's birthday (she and my son share the same birthday, which is a gift in and of itself). My mom took me to a fall festival, where they asked folks to try to guess how many pieces of candy corn were in a huge glass jar. We took a guess and wound up winning, which meant we got to keep the jar of candy corn. This was a highly exciting win for me as a little girl. So, we took the candy corn home and got to work to create a birthday cake for my grandmother, all decorated in candy corn. I can still remember the smile on her face when we presented her with our masterpiece and as she blew out the candles.

I'm not the world's best baker as an adult, but lucky for me, my husband comes from a family of amazing bakers. I do love to bake with my kids, though, and encourage them to be creative in the kitchen. This Halloween, we're having so much fun making spooktacular treats and making memories in the kitchen, thanks to the awesomely sweet Halloween Tackle Box from Dylan's Candy Bar!

PUMPKIN PATCH GRAHAM SQUARES

These adorable Pumpkin Patch Graham Squares are totally perfect for the kids to make this October! You will just need a few simple ingredients, and of course- some of the candy from your DCB Halloween Tackle Box!

You Will Need:

Graham Cracker Squares

Green Icing

Candy Corn Pieces & Candy Pumpkins (from the Dylan's Candy Bar Halloween Tackle Box)

To make this treat...

Break 6 graham cracker sheets in half, making 12 squares.

Add green icing on top of the graham cracker square.

Outline the square in candy corn pieces, points up, to create the candy fence for the pumpkin patch.

Add one or two candy pumpkins in the middle, and pipe icing to look like grass around the pumpkins.

Voila! This couldn't be easier to make and would be a totally cute treat for your family, for a class party or any fall festival or Halloween party!

SPIDER BROWNIES

Another easy peasy Halloween treat to make and enjoy with your family! These spider brownie bites scream Halloween!

You Will Need:

Brownie Mix

Candy Coated Chocolate Pieces (from the DCB Halloween Tackle Box)

Colored Icing

To make this treat...

Bake the brownies in a mini muffin tin to make tiny brownie bites.

Let the brownie bites cool completely, and then add a colored chocolate piece to the middle of each brownie. You'll want to use a dot of icing to help it stay in place.

Add four little lines of icing to make spider legs on each side of the candy piece!

Totally easy and totally cute!

GUMMY DIRT CUPS

No Halloween celebration is complete without dirt cups. My kids love this treat any time of the year and it's even more fun to make and eat around Halloween!

You Will Need:

Chocolate Pudding Cups

Crushed Oreo Cookies

Candy Gummies from the DCB Halloween Tackle Box

To make this treat...

Remove the lids from chocolate pudding cups.

Add crushed Oreo cookies over top of the pudding to make the 'dirt.'

Add Halloween themed gummy candies to the top!

We used witches hats for our gummy treat! My favorite Halloween movie (Hocus Pocus) was playing in my head when we made these!
