Essential Oils to treat various Baby issues safely

Essential oils are used extensively and reliably in the domain of medicine for a number of years. Essential oil therapy or Aromatherapy is known for the medicinal use of plant aromas which are naturally extracted so that the emotional and physical well-being can be promoted. Not only they help in getting rid of physical issues they also help in relaxing the mind and alleviating stress. Besides, these essential oils can be used by adults as well as babies.

Some essential oils for babies are used to help them sleep, release their anxiety, and release symptoms of indigestion. But before you apply these essential oils to your babies, understand that it is important to know application methods and proper ratios of dilution. These essential oils are available widely these days. You can get a huge variety of oils on the internet and in various stores. Just before you buy these oils, make sure that they are authentic and pure.

There are certain essential oils which are premixed with alcohol and they can prove to be extremely irritating. Avoid synthetic fragrances, since they are totally different from essential oils. They don’t even carry any kind of health benefits and can also aggravate the skin.

Each and every essential oil is different. Essential oils are safe to use on babies and infants and when used in moderation and properly, they can prove much better than the medicines available in the market.

Some of the dilution ratios and applications are explained below:

Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla or Chamaemelumnobile)
Roman chamomile and German chamomile are baby essential oils which are gentle in nature. These are good for such babies who have issues in sleeping. Chamomile has natural calming effects and is utilized to treat insomnia in adults and babies for a long time. Chamomile, when blended with lavender, can help relieve signs of indigestion as well. Chamomile also helps in treating anxiety and depression, helps in uplifting the spirits of your fussy baby.

Distilled lemon (Citrus limon)
Distilled lemon helps lift mood and energy. It is great for a wakeup call after you have slept for long. This is also one of the preferred baby essential oils.

Dill (Anethumsowa)
Dill is a soothing and antispasmodic oil which helps in soothing indigestion. When you are using dill, dilute in a ratio of 1 drop per teaspoon of carrier oil, and blend thoroughly. Massage this mixture onto the skin of your baby.

Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus radiata)
When it comes to essential oils for babies, don’t forget Eucalyptus oil. It is a natural expectorant and can help immensely in unclogging respiratory congestion. Eucalyptus is simply a hot favorite during cold winter months. Eucalyptus is available in two varieties which are useful for adults and kids.
Whenever you are applying this oil on your baby, make sure you are contacting your pediatrician for the same. Eucalyptus is used to ease respiratory symptoms of adults and kids.
