It's a really cool time to be a parent, especially when it comes to family entertainment. I think that a good portion of parents in my generation would agree that watching some of our favorite childhood stories, movies, and characters come 'back to life' in our adult years is nothing short of magical. I can still remember the excitement I felt as a child, watching beloved Disney movies for the very first time, and now, I get the privilege to not only relive those moments but to experience them with my own children. Every time this happens, it gives me all the feels.
DUMBO is a classic Disney tale, one that's been met with a lot of criticism, and I can certainly understand why. It is, however, a staple story from my own childhood, and when I learned that Disney was making a live-action DUMBO movie (with none other than Tim Burton at the helm), I was 100% on board for viewing.
DUMBO is out on Disney BluRay, DVD + DIGITAL today, June 25th, and to celebrate, we decided to host our own little family movie night, complete with a circus tent and festive carnival popcorn!
Carnival Popcorn
4 Cups of Popcorn
1 Cup melted white chocolate or vanilla candy melts
Brightly colored sprinkles
Scatter popcorn in a single layer over wax paper.
Drizzle melted chocolate or candy melts over the popcorn.
Add sprinkles and let cool/dry completely.
Fill theatre style popcorn containers with the popcorn and enjoy!
