I love coffee, like really love it… like, theoretically trade my left lung for a good cup!  Before I found out that I was pregnant with my son, I drank a lot of coffee and, while I love really good coffee, I would drink just about anything.  But in-utero Little Bear couldn’t quite hang with my coffee habits, so I had to dial it back—my doctor said that I could have one cup per day.  If I was going to be limited to just ONE cup, I knew that it would have to be the best cup I could find.  Ten months on from delivery, I’ve stuck with the one cup rule and I’ve set out to find great coffee to fill that one cup! 

I typically get my coffee from my local grocery store, it has a pretty decent selection these days, but when I heard about Bean Box I knew I had to try it out and see if this delivery service could bring the best cup strait to my door—a huge benefit for this tired mama.  Bean Box’s coffee options are loosely broken down into two types, a subscription service that lets you try four new coffees each month and gift sets that are designed more as one-time gifts.  I was lucky enough to get to try out a box from each category: this month’s Bean Box CoffeeSampler and their Coffee + Biscotti Tasting Box and I have been so impressed by each!

The Coffee Sampler included four unique coffees, sourced from around the world and roasted in Seattle, Washington!  My box included select brews from Ethiopia, Guatemala, Columbia as well as a special Autumn Spice Blend that kicks pumpkin spice to the curb; it’s basically a chunky sweater and fall-baking in a cup!  As a subscription delivery option, you can choose packages of one, three, six, or twelve months, the latter two saving you ten and fifteen percent respectively, and you get free shipping with all recurring options!  The box also includes an artisan caramel (I got Hot Chocolate flavor!) and brewing tips.  Since I’m only drinking one cup a day, I get about four days’ worth from each package, so this Bean Box satisfies my coffee needs for just over two weeks!  I think that this monthly delivery option would make a fantastic gift for the coffee lover in your life, because it’s the gift that keeps on giving, but you only have to remember it once!

I also got to try one of Bean Box’s curated gift box options: the Coffee + Biscotti TastingBox.  In this box, I was so pleased and surprised to find four totally different coffees—so I got to try eight coffees in total—and four biscotti, a twice-baked cookie that is perfect for dunking in coffee; I got Almond, Chocolate Cherry, White Chocolate Raspberry, and Red Velvet flavors!  I enjoyed this box so much, indulgently eating a cookie with my morning coffee—that’s totally acceptable when they’ve been expertly paired by a coffee professional, right?  My tummy and I think so!  I can safely say that this would be a great gift for the coffee lover in your life when you want a gift that comes all at once, rather than expecting the recipient to exercise coffee restraint and patience! The curated gift box options include other coffee pairings, including chocolate, breakfast items, and tea!  You can also choose from all-coffee gift options and can get your coffee whole bean or ground!  They even have a K-Cup option!  So many choices!

All in all, I can say that this is a great gift for the coffee lover in your life—even when that coffee lover is Yourself… maybe most especially then!  That is precisely what I did, even before I finished all the coffee from my two boxes; I now have a box of special holiday blends heading my way and I can’t wait!
