I can still remember the very first time I cracked open a fresh journal. I was just a young girl, inspired by none other than Anne Frank, to write down my thoughts and feelings, my hopes and dreams, and document significant moments of my life. I can still smell those blank pages, and the motion of my hand as it swept from left to right, ink flowing from my pen. My journals and diaries were prized possessions, my writing connected my heart, mind, and spirit with the world. I knew that one day, my words would reach more eyes than just my own.

Years later (okay, many years later), here I am, still writing. It's truly my greatest passion and brings me much joy- something I consider a tremendous gift, one hard to deny.

As you might imagine, the digital form of storytelling through blogging certainly has its advantages. It's convenient and easily shareable. After blogging for a few years, I discovered how much I missed physically hand-writing my thoughts. I thrive on jotting things down... everything from schedules and lists to plans, projects, and writings of a personal nature. I tend to spend so much time writing for others (it is my job, after all), that I often forget about the joy in writing for myself.
