Happy Saturday, friends! We just finished up the last full week of virtual learning and now we have just two and a half days left. Today we are celebrating with our very first Family Field Day!
I was feeling a little down when it was announced school buildings would be closed for the remainder of the year. That would mean missing out on so much end of the year fun, including field day. I have volunteered at every single field day since D was in kindergarten, and I certainly wasn't going to miss out on it this year, so I started planning easy games we could do at home. Apparently, I'm not the only one who was thinking about field day either because R's gym teacher shared a "virtual field day" post in her online classroom and now we have even more activities to try!
The weather is supposed to be perfect for our activities and the best part is that since we are doing this on a Saturday, Matt will be home to join in the fun! He's not been able to participate in any field day activities with the girls at school because of his work schedule, so now he gets to feel a little taste of the excitement we feel every field day.
We're starting our field day festivities in just a little bit, but first, we have to make sure to sunscreen up and fill up our water bottles. I'm so excited!
I hope you have a wonderful weekend. Let me know what fun activities you'll be participating in this weekend- I can't wait to hear all about it.
Have a spectacular Saturday!
