The recent situation we have all found ourselves in has caused me to do quite a bite of self-reflection about having what we need, when we need it. 

There are basic things that we all need to function in life such as soap, cleaning supplies, detergents and personal hygiene items. Back in March, when everyone began to buy up everything on the shelves, I decided to check out a company that made a small box of laundry detergent strips to last an entire year.

I know. It doesn't seem possible. When I first discovered Tru Earth, I was absolutely floored that a small strip could actually clean a load of my family's laundry. I have two little boys that are 9.5 and almost 8 and let me tell you- they can soil some attire.

I'm 100% a fan for life of Tru Earth. I could not believe the level of cleanliness that occurred with the first use. I have to admit that I was a tiny bit skeptical. How can a small strip of material wash an entire load of laundry! I promise you, not only does every item come out clean, but they smell amazing too. 

This is the fresh linen scent. It's not over powering and delivers just the right amount of a "clean" scent when you open up your washing machine, after a load is completed. 

The best deal (I think) you can get with Tru Earth laundry detergent is to get the annual package. For $109 dollars, you get a box of 384 loads. 1 strip = 1 load. 

When I think about the amount of plastic laundry detergent bottles I was purchasing in one year, I'm almost appalled. It's something many of us may not even think about. Now that I have a comparison of this one small box, I can never go back to purchasing jug after jug. 

Imagine if each one of us made the switch and began using Tru Earth laundry detergent. They ship in the box they come in so no extra packaging is necessary. 700,000,000 plastic detergent jugs are dumped into landfills every single year. Let that sink in for a second. Now look at this box:
