Every Thursday at 3 pm (ET) on Mommy's Block Party Facebook page, we will be discussing oils and how we can use them in our everyday life.
The first thing I want to go over is RESEARCH, what oils you use!
We use doTERRA oils, and they are CPTG Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade®, which means they are the purest oils. There are no contaminants, fillers, or adulterations added, plus every batch of doTERRA essential oils goes through a rigorous testing process. I feel safe giving these oils to my family regularly.
Uses for Lemon Essential Oil in the HOME!
Lemon is one of doTERRA's top-selling oils. I can see WHY because Lemon essential oil has so many uses and benefits. Lemon gives off a clean, fresh citrus aroma that everyone wants in their home. Plus, doTERRA's Lemon oil is pure and can also be digested (see the tip at the bottom). But first, here are some ways to use Lemon Essential Oil in the home.
Laundry
You know those days you FORGET the laundry in the washer and it has that ODOR well no worries add a couple of drops of lemon oil and rewash!
Lemon oil can help remove that smelly grease (anyone in food service knows that smell)- add a couple of drops to your detergent with each load. Because you only need a small amount, using essential oils in your laundry is very economical.
Make your own Essential Oil Linen Spray- helps with clothes with a funky odor and also that closet that gets a bit musty. Combine 30 drops of essential oils and ¼ cup of witch hazel or rubbing alcohol in an 8 oz spray bottle. You can also fill up with distilled water then spritz over all the funky clothes. Lemon and Lavender is a perfect combo for this spray.
Kitchen and Bathroom Cleaning
Lemon is such a clean smell, so of course, it a great oil to use for cleaning. We have a recipe for a simple kitchen and bathroom cleaner. To make the cleaning solution use a glass spray bottle. After adding the below ingredients, then swirl it around, spray it on, and wipe with a clean microfiber cloth.
1 cup of water
1/2 cup white vinegar in a glass spray bottle
Add 15 drops each of lemon essential oil and tea tree oil
Also, in the bathroom, it will help clean that gunky hard water buildup in the shower. All you need is a bowl of hot water and add 6-10 drops of lemon oil. It is best to use a microfiber cleaning cloth with the liquid and then wipe away. It's impressive to see how clean your shower will be after cleaning with Lemon essential oil.
In the kitchen, use the lemon oil spray to clean cutting boards. Also, you can add a few drops of lemon oil to dishwasher, and dishes will come out cleaner and sparkle. It will also help clean your microwave.
Microwave Cleaner
1/2 cup of vinegar
1 cup of water
a few drops of lemon essential oil
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients, put in microwave for 3-5 minutes, let sit for another 5 minutes, remove the bowl and then wipe down. All the food mess that was caked up on the sides should be easy to wipe away.

I think from the list the Terrashield would be my favorite after reading the different blends that go into them. This one has lemon eucalyptus and vanilla bean in it so I think it would be nice. The Geranium probably smells nice, but I think it being more of a floral scent it would upset my allergies.
