Who loves a good churro? Wonderfully fried dough topped with cinnamon and sugar is definitely a treat to my stomach! Churros are typically saved for outings to Mexican restaurants, fairs, and festivals, but every once in a while I get a craving for these guys at home. Wouldn't it be nice to have easy churros for Taco Tuesday or Fiesta Friday nights? Especially since restrictions might prevent us from gathering over a warm churro at our favorite fair or festival this holiday season?

Churros ready for the oven! One broke in the process of arranging, but that didn't bother me!

The Take-Home Churro kit arrived at my door packed with a cooling bag to help keep the dough and fillings cool. The kit contains a Devil's Dozen (14) pre-made mini churros and 1 reusable bottle filled with a choice of filling as well as 2 San Diablo Coloring Sheets! I was also sent an extra filling flavor to try out with my churro kit!

Currently, available fillings include: sweet cream, nutella, dulce de leche, wild berry, and pumpkin cheesecake. Fillings can be seasonal, so continue to look at all the different offerings!

Churro Dough needs to be chilled or frozen until ready to bake. Churros arrive already fried, but just require a 6-8 minute oven bake and/or toast. It depends on how crispy you want to get your churros as to how long you leave them in the oven and whether you broil to toast or not! I do not own an air fryer, but I am sure that would be the preferred method with this kit.

After churros are finished, I filled several with the 2 fillings I received: Dulce de Leche and Lemon Curd. I'm not used to having flavoring in my churros so this was a totally different experience for me! I enjoyed the Dulce de Leche, but actually loved the lemon curd better, which is unusual as I don't typically like lemon flavorings. The fillings and sugar are more than enough to cover the 13 churros. These were so good (and I was hungry) that I immediately ate 4!

If you know that your family will love churro goodness, I would definitely recommend more than one kit! Your family and/or friends can make wonderful creations with fillings, sugar, and whatever other toppings you find in the house. Perhaps syrup, jams, or powdered sugar might be more up your alley than San Diablo fillings.

Don't be afraid to get creative!

I have to admit- I loved the fillings so much that I failed to save any churros for other creations!
