Happy Saturday, friends. It's the day after Christmas and the last Saturday of the year. I jokingly told Matt a few weeks ago that we should plan on eating a bunch of "lucky foods" the entire week before and the entire week after the start of the new year. Today, I'm thinking it might not be too bad an idea to look up a few recipes.

Matt's family has some Irish roots, so I love the idea of incorporating something from his ancestry into our current traditions. I did read a little more about this particular tradition and it seems like the back door is open just before midnight to let the old year out and the front door is open at midnight to let the new year in. I think I may open the front door with the chain still on and ask for some sort of identification. 😉
We'll be celebrating the last weekend of this year by (hopefully) decluttering and maybe playing a few of the new games the girls got for Christmas. I have a book or two that could be read and the girls just got quite a few too. I'll also be doing that research to figure out what else is considered "lucky cuisine" for the new year.
