Recently, my family and I visited Corolla, NC for the very first time. Having visited other cities in the Outer Banks in years past, we were so excited to explore beautiful Corolla, NC.
When planning a visit to a beach town, the weather is always the biggest gamble. We did end up with a couple days of rain and cooler temps, but in true child-like fashion, my two boys booked it for the water upon arrival!
For the first time in seven years, my entire family (including my parents, brother, sister in law and nephew) were able to vacation together in a rental home, close to the water. We looked forward to this trip for months and when the time finally arrived to take the trip, everyone was more than ready to feel the sand in their toes.
Everyone knows, on vacation you eat delicious food! For my family, this includes endless snacks, extravagant breakfasts (thanks to an amazing chef/Gigi) and SEAFOOD. We decided we wanted to dine-in as much as we could and if we did venture out, take-out was our desired option. Luckily for us, the Outer Banks Boil Company provided everything we would need to do our own seafood boil, right in our rental home!
My little guy and I drove over to pick up our seafood boil for three and were super excited to discover it was packaged in this large, souvenir pot! Everything we would need to create the most delicious pot of seafood was conveniently packaged for us.
The directions were easy to understand and come printed on a card for safe keeping. We ordered the "crab pot" which is $31.95/person and includes a crab cluster, potato, sweet corn, andouille sausage, sweet onion and jumbo shrimp. The pot comes with lemon, butter, seasoning and their homemade cocktail sauce. This cocktail sauce was honestly the best I've ever tasted. Everyone in my family raved about it! When I discovered it can be ordered on their website, I knew I would be purchasing a jar soon!
I'm looking forward to steaming a pot of shrimp with Matt's homemade cocktail sauce for dipping. The flavor is unlike any cocktail sauce you've every tried! It's perfectly tangy and the right amount of sweet.

I know this picture isn't the greatest as I did have to commission a family member to snap this shot for me. However, I had to show you the amount of food that we ended up with. I did order a few extra potatoes and an extra ear of corn. That's another great perk- being able to add on whatever extras you may want! This huge dish was able to feed more than three (as you can imagine!) and every last bite was enjoyed to the fullest. We are so grateful to our new friends at Outer Banks Boil for providing my family with a seafood feast we will always remember!

The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was upbeat and bright. We sat inside at a comfortable table and enjoyed our smoothies and cold brew. Grab an avocado toast for just $5.99 to go with your fresh fruit smoothie and make a complete meal. I absolutely love establishments like this because with all of the junk we tend to consume on vacation, having some healthy options like that from Island Smoothie was just what we needed.

While our vacation was just five days, we packed in a ton of fun and delicious meals. What meant the most to me was the time spent with my family. My brother, sister in law and nephew live over 350 miles away so we do not get to see them very often. Sharing a meal with the ones I love is a favorite pastime and one I hope our children will remember for years to come.
