Not only am I excited at the opportunity to finally have gatherings, I am excited at the opportunity to worship together! As a Church youth leader, it brings me great strength to be part of a community that passionate worships Christ, with artists that live out their faith and love what they do.

Chris Tomlin's music has been present in my life many years, through college and youth retreats with Campus Ministries, Younglife, and of course the radio.
In recent years, I was introduced to Bethel Music during our annual youth assembly and at summer camp. The worship leader used Bethel Music's songs in our daily worship and one in particular stuck out to me.
Reckless Love by Bethel Music Collective
Reckless Love, made its debut in 2017. Written by Cory Asbury, member of Bethel Music Collective, it describes the relationship between God and us, God's children.
While difficult to describe, every time I hear this song- at camp, on the radio, in a youth retreat, it seems to speak to me.
The Chorus lyrics describe a God that will do anything to restore relationship with us, sharing love, mercy and grace to us.
"Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God,
Oh, it chases me down, fights ‘til I’m found, leaves the ninety-nine.
I couldn’t earned it, I don’t deserve it, still You give Yourself away.
Oh, the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God'
Some people hear the "reckless" portion of this song and get turned off, but that is one of the lyrics that draws me in. Reckless means to think or act without care of consequences. One could argue that God is not reckless- God, as creator, knows what God is doing.
Yet, I argue that God's love is reckless. Knowing no bounds, no limits, no consequences God's love is freely given to us. We don't have to earn it, we don't deserve it, and honestly, we don't have to do anything to receive it.. God just freely gives, freely chases us, because God loves.

The song goes even further to describe how much God fights for us- just for us to be able to see, experience, and feel God's love. This world, full of sin and pain, distracts us from the truth. It distracts us from a love full of hope, full of life. Yet, God doesn't give up. God loves us so much that God fought for us!
All throughout the Old Testament, there are stories of God not giving up on his people despite the selfish ways they turned against him. All through the New Testament, there are stories of God not giving up on his people despite the way that they treat Jesus, his Son. In the end, God doesn't give up and God wins.
