Many thanks to Micro Cotton for sending me a bath towel in exchange for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
How do you towel-off in the mornings? Is it with rough, dry, scratchy towels? Is it with towels that really should be delegated to your scrap/mopping/rags bin? It's so hard for us to replace towels, isn't it?
This Christmas give the gift of Micro-Cotton! With towels made with sustainable cotton, every towel saves energy, water, and money! All cotton used is organic and BCI certified. BCI, or the Better Cotton Initiative, is the largest sustainability program in the world. It aims to provide better farming practices of cotton growers so that cotton can a better renewable resource available for much longer!
Why Micro Cotton instead of any old towel? Micro Cotton towels are made:
- Using Recovered Water. In fact, 98.5% of water used to make these towels is reused/ recovered water from the other processes!
- 90% of energy used to make Micro Cotton towels is from solar and wind energy!
- Traditional manufacturing processes waste water. Micro Cotton uses less than 1 liter of fresh water per towel, creating 89 towels to the 1 towel of traditional manufacturing methods. Isn't that cool?
The Holidays usually mean lots of people visiting and lots more laundry to use. Whether you are looking to gift towels to your college student heading back to their apartment or need to upgrade your own towels, get a Micro Cotton Towel! Towels come in a variety of colors and are 30 X 56. The towel I received, which is featured, is specifically for Macy's!
When I pulled my towel out of the box, I first noticed how soft it feels! Micro Cotton aims for their towels to feel like towels in hotels. Shouldn't every one have that experience? Then I realized the size of this towel is definitely longer than my existing towels!
I love towels that are proper bath towels- meant to wrap around your body. The towel I received is Oat Colored, but there are plenty of colors that would work with your own bathroom scheme.
Don't forget to participate in the Powder Room Pledge! Be more environmentally responsible in the bathroom and perhaps you can win a $10,000 sustainable powder room (ie- bathroom) makeover or be one of the 5 winners to receive $500.00 towards sustainable products!
I have to admit, I'm far from sustainable in the bathroom. I love my long hot showers, but I do turn off water when brushing teeth. Using Micro Cotton helps, but it doesn't totally solve the problem, so I am aiming to pledge to do better!
What about you? Will you take the pledge? It starts small just by using Micro Cotton towels! Micro Cotton also creates bedding and rugs too, so there are lots of ways to try to be sustainable and find gifts with meaning!
