SOME ACTIVITIES TO KEEP YOUR CHILD OFF THEIR PHONE

This generation is more interested in technology than doing other activities and is less productive. Parents these days give their kids mobile phones, even the toddlers so that they can relax but what they don't realize is that this is quite wrong as excessive use of technology is very harmful to them and they miss out so much on the fun activities. These days, children are always sitting in a corner with their gadgets avoiding interaction with others. Things have quite changed from when you were a child, you spent most of your free time playing outdoor games, riding bicycles, playing board games, etc but nowadays kids are spending an average of 53 hours per week on their electronic devices.

1. Diamond painting:

Diamond painting is a new craft hobby that is a beautiful mixture of beading and painting. In diamond painting, you apply thousands of diamonds on a coded gluey canvas to create beautiful diamond art Diamond painting kits are used to create diamond art, which includes a canvas that is printed with symbols and letters signifying the diamonds to be used in their place which is quite fascinating. It is a good activity to pass one's time. It increases your artistic skills and confidence. It gives the mind the capability to be more creative. More importantly, it leads to your time being productively consumed away from technology.

2. Outdoor activities:

Hide-and-seek is a popular children's game in which 2 or more people hide somewhere where they can not be found by the one person who is a seeker. Hide-and-seek is a fun game to play and kids are highly interested in hiding and finding.

Hopscotch is yet another popular game in which players throw a small object into numbered boxes outlined on the ground and then hop through the spaces and pick the object.

There are more outdoor games like these that your child will enjoy and will also stay away from technology. It will also keep them fit and keep their minds fresh.

3. Board games:

A board game is a game that involves pieces moved or placed on a board, according to a set of rules. There are many fun board games that children can play such as ludo, monopoly, scrabble, chess, etc. Not only children but these games can include the involvement of other family members, thus increasing interaction and bond.

4. Doing activities  with them:

Doing different activities with children proves very effective as you will be able to give them more time and spend more time with them teaching new things or playing some games. Collect all sorts of recyclable materials such as buttons, bottles, wire, boxes, etc., and have your kids make creations from the materials. Let them use their imaginations to create something.  In this way, they will learn some new things and will be able to think out of the box.

All of the above-mentioned possibilities can be made essential in the routines of children to keep them away from boredom and build up their interest without needing to give them gadgets.

However, technology is not unimportant or extremely harmful but the excessive use of technology can be harmful. There should be a particular age set for children to be allowed to use these gadgets and it should be a priority to have children involved in other activities as well.
