As a parent, I can't believe the number of times I have heard one of my kids say, 'I can't do it.' It sort of breaks my heart to hear it. My wish is to instill hope, faith, and courage into the hearts and minds of my kids, so that they will face the world with determination to finish the race, whatever their race looks like. Our family was given the opportunity to preview Tyson's Run, a story that likely hits home for many parents and kids. I'm so glad we were able to check this movie out, and I'm excited to share about it with you, too!

When fifteen-year-old Tyson attends public school for the first time, his life is changed forever. While helping his father clean up after the football team, Tyson befriends champion marathon runner Aklilu. Never letting his autism hold him back, Tyson becomes determined to run his first marathon in hopes of winning his father's approval.

With the help of an unlikely friend and his parents, Tyson learns that with faith in yourself and the courage to take the first step, anything is possible.

This movie has an incredible cast. I love Amy Smart, and she just shines in this movie! My son could very much relate to Tyson in this film. He's also going through a change as far as school is concerned, and his anxiety plays a big role in how he tackles challenges in life. Watching this incredibly moving movie together gave us both a hopeful outlook on the future-facing new challenges with faith, love, and determination. My kiddo could relate to Tyson in a lot of ways. While we don't have experience with Autism, anxiety is a real issue that we deal with together as a family. In terms of our son, it has been crippling in the past, and we do our best to work through those episodes together. We've kept him in a private school to help lessen his anxiety and ours, but quickly found that kids can be just as cruel- no matter what type of environment you place your child in. Tyson's spirit is contagious, heartwarming, and lovely. We walked away from the movie with a 'yes, I can' attitude, which is something all parents want their kids to hold onto throughout their lives.

This is the perfect family movie night film! If you love Christian music, you'll absolutely enjoy the powerful song If You Believe by Yolanda Adams. The movie releases this weekend, so I hope you'll make a date with your family to see this inspiring movie!
