Many thanks to A Spoon Full of Hope for sending out this box in exchange for my review. All thoughts and opinions are my own. |
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida serves to feed, empower, nourish, and engage the communities surrounding them. They provide assistance, education, and empowerment regarding food assistance, poverty, nutrition, and more mostly for children and adult seniors in need.
Now, entire communities are uprooted from the devastating effects of Hurricane Ian. Meeting basic needs, like hunger, will become even more important for this organization. A Spoon Full of Hope exists to provide sustainable ways that Second Harvest can have the funding it needs to help its communities in Central Florida. Through a culinary training program, wonderful products are made that impact lives. 100% of proceeds transform lives, create new jobs, and create training opportunities. Over 400 individuals have been changed by this program, graduating into the Culinary Arts workforce.
A spoon full of honey, a spoon full of soup, a spoon full of sugar (to bake cookies) is all that is needed to create a spoon ful of hope. I was sent the Queen Bee Care Package. This delightfully fun gift box arrives with a 16 oz jar of honey (choices include orange blossom, palmetto, wildflower), 8 shortbread cookies (flavors include cranberry, classic, chai, & strawberry lemonade), 3 bags of tea, and 1 Tea Steeper. The tea steeper is a fun addition, but is not needed in this box as the tea arrives in prepackaged bags. Yet, if you are a loose-leaf tea drinker, like me, you will appreciate this awesome tool to use on your own collection.
The honey is locally sourced from Central Florida and is packaged in their Orlando Production Center. Cookies are made from scratch. They pair so WELL with the teas (or any beverage of your choice!).
A Spoon Full of Hope also offers other gift boxes that will delight the senses and support those in need this fall and winter. Check out the A Spoon Full of Hope Gift Box (including tomato basil soup) or even a box of shortbread cookies. Individual soups, honeys, and cookies are all available too! Don't forget to check out the kitchen tools section for mugs, aprons, and the tea steeper!
I highly recommend you gift a loved one of these amazing holiday boxes this year. Each box arrives with a story card that helps your loved one know who the box might be helping out. All people have stories-all people need nourishment, education, and even housing. A Spoon Full of Hope certainly does so! And by supporting this important offshoot, you are supporting Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida too.

ReplyDeleteI use a lot of honey in my cooking and baking, but have never tried anything different than regular honey. I live in Central Florida. Second Harvest Food Bank is a wonderful organization. We had a little bit of damage from hurricane Ian, but nothing like some other people on the west size of Florida.
ReplyDeleteA Spoon Full of Hope Gift Box would be a great gift idea for some of my friends and family who love to cook. They would appreciate the kitchen tools, soups and cookies.
