Volcanica Coffee is a family owned business with all members involved in running the specialty coffee brand and importing the highest quality beans worldwide. Coffee has been in their family for at least two generations, starting when our mother and grandfather would assist in harvesting the coffee beans high in the mountains of Costa Rica.

They source beans from the finest crops in the best volcanic regions around the world. Each region offers distinct and various flavor notes that come alive in your cup. The mineral-rich soil from volcanic regions around the world produces coffee that is wonderfully aromatic and remarkable in taste. 

I was able to try the Sulawesi Celebes Kalossi full-bodied medium roast. It was delicious with hints of cherry and maple syrup. It has a heavy body and a creamy texture. This is a rare coffee grown in the ancient Toraja region on the island of Sulawesi, located in Indonesia. It is also known as Celebes Kalossi Coffee because it's grown on the Island of Celebes, as referred to by its old Dutch name. Many of these trees are more than 250 years old and originated before the Dutch first arrived on this island. Volcanica says, “This coffee is full-bodied, sweet, complex, and earthy. The distinct chocolate and syrupy taste make it unique and a highly valued brew”. Even though it is low in acidity, the cup still possesses deep flavors.
